Issue #147
Here's a preview of issue #147 of TMNT.
Spoiler:
|
So why is future Lita able to change future just for her own selfish desire without any consequences?
|
It's very likely Jason Aaron will ignore all this future timeline stuff when he takes over, so it's exactly what it is, a "what if" possible future. It's obvious they don't have to strictly adhere to it. And once Sophie is gone there's no reason to either.

So Jennika is just going to leave Lita behind and run off to be a groupie? Mother of the Year material right there.
She might now be green on the outside, but still white trash on the inside. Somehow, I find this… amusing. Probably for the same reason I like Roger Black and Waco O’Guin animated sitcoms. I’m not particularly proud of it. |

Mutant Town isn't as bad as people think. And the concept is great. Can't wait to see where this goes. |

Not unless they wanted to do a history wipe kinda scenario, but I highly doubted that, honestly.

This, however, is by all implication just a possible future or an alternate reality, not the set in stone future. And, need I remind you, you were also insisting the future Tokka and Rahzar went into was going to be "the" future, which this one clearly isn't. And even if that isn't the intention, the series is getting a new writer in four months anyway, so there is no guarantee he'll stick to any of this. You are literally lying about what you said in order to say "see, I told you so!". And even if your point that there would be "a" future where mutants replaced all of New York's population rather than the insistence that it would become the unalterable status quo, you still wouldn't have predicted anything since we've known about such a future since at least 2014, long before you started being overly insistent. |
Mutant Town is not a bad idea per se, is just bad idea in a context of TMNT, which is supposed to be about group of freaks and outcasts surviving in a hostile society. Mutant City completely misses the point of it, for the same reason why turning TMNT into a show with talking animals doing funny things (FW) is not a good idea.
It could be used as a setting once or twice, but making it a permanent fixture of TMNT story is not a good idea. It misses the point of the story and turns into something very generic. |

Now the concept has been tainted, and I really don't want to see it again. Especially since I know any future uses of it would rush the hell out of it, instead of building up to it like this verision did. Even Mirage had first contact in Vol. 4. The concept is doable. It just requires talent, and significantly less narcissism. |

Really need to see what happens next issue but as far as I can tell none of the 'potential futures' have been consistent; #118 it was post-apocalyptic, 20/20 showed and Utrom war (though with Krang and Ch'rell gone we can discount that one) and Turtles in Time's futuristic city was being run by The Foot/ Oroku Saki or at least a Shredder implied to be him which wouldn't make much sense given his current status although the upcoming miniseries could change things in that regard.
