The Batman Part 2
 

By the time this movie comes out Pattison will be over 40. So much for "young" Batman.

Just cancel it. I can't think of a movie or sequel I'm looking forward to less.

Wonder if this pushes back James Gunn's Brave and the Bold movie that I think was also supposed to be 2026

Risky. I appreciated the first one but by 2026 my interest in a sequel will be very low.

I'm not gonna lie, this is concerning. Why another whole year? The wait is gonna be painful for those that enjoyed the movie. I don't think the upcoming TV show spin-offs will hold over the fans long enough until they lose interest in this universe.

We finally got around to watching the first one on Netflix, and about 3/4s of the way through she turns to me and says "do you think he was really the best choice to play Batman?" :lol:

I can't fathom one having anything to do with the other. If anything, maybe a push to get out Gunn's movie and further cement what the "new" DCU is sooner rather than later pushed the Reeves' Elseworlds thing back.

I don't think casting was even close to the worst decision in the movie. The script tries to be super intelligent and slick... but it's just surface level. And man, that is a stupid, stupid script.

Oh I agree, absolutely. SJW Catwoman of it's era. And like you said - the script - like someone had a clear vision of a noir "situation" and said "this will work with Batman". But at the end of the day everyone realized that the "bold noir direction" was all informed by "Heavy Rain" from the PS3 and no one on the production had "film noir" past that swipe.

And so, then at the end they tried to suddenly "Batman it up" and throw in that totally awkward and out of place scene of him running down the building facade on a cable.

Eitherway, I didn't hate it as much as was bored through it and ultimately it just felt like "another Batman movie with a guy dressed up like some kind of Batman, but not actually Batman". Everyone is wearing hockey pads. ;)

We really don't need another one of these. The first was basically just another movie with some guy in a Batman suit.

When the best part of your movie was the friggin Penguin.....

I think we know that. :lol: But this movie still has a sequel slated and that was the point I was talking about - not the "epic 2-parter thing". :lol:

So why exactly did we need these movies? Or how are they different from the already "grounded" Nolan movies?

So Poison Ivy isnt a plain human? Two-Face isnt a plain human? Scarecrow in the Nolan movies was just a dude in a mask. This just sounds like they want all future Batman movies to be super serious so they're not gonna use characters who arent people.

**** it, give it back to Tim Burton. At least we'll get some off the wall characters if he had it.

I'll give you Scarecrow and Two-Face, but Poison Ivy is more than human in the recent years. Plants literally bend to her will, she's immune to poison and I think she has accelerated healing.

Poison Ivy is very easy to do a realistic version of.

I don't know about anyone else but I've seen at least six different live action versions of Batman, I think I'm good for the rest of my life.

But maybe only 2 of them have been any good. A third COULD maybe have been good but never even ever got a solo movie.
