'Rise' Fan Community Developing Third Season "A New Age"
 

Yet another fan continuation of a cancelled animated series is in the works, this time from the 'Rise' community.

The goal is to produce twenty episodes for the season. There may also be side projects released.

-It will take place after the movie (though there may be room to explore the past, episode 1 in particular is described as revealing how April met the Turtles)

-The only 'OC' characters will be those used for backgrounds

-There will be no adaptations of episodes that were planned for the unproduced official third season

We'll see how this one goes. While 90's Sonic has a more 'realistic' and slower paced animation style, Rise is fast and zany and also full of both clever and lol-so-random humor. This one will difficult to pull off without it looking 'cheap' and 'fanfic-y'.

Was checking the teaser trailer's YT comments and found that the project's current leader is aged 35. I wonder if that means he's been around the block a bit in regards to the industry?

At least we now know it isn't all just a bunch of overenthusiastic kids running this.

Tbh I completely forgot about this :lol:

Someone in the YT comments section said they'd read 'on google' that the project had been cancelled due to copyright issues, but then claimed they couldn't find that information when googling a second time.

While I gotta give them credit for the effort to seriously want to do it, I wouldn't be surprised if Nick/Paramount noticed and told them "Nuh-uh."

The occasional fan-made short or something might get past as just a form of fan art, but straight up "we're making season 3" is probably pushing it. Esp if it inevitability gets put on YouTube and possibly monetized like everything else anymore.

Plus... speaking from experience, a bunch of strangers (or who even might know each other but rarely actually see each other) spread far and wide trying to voluntarily collaborate on something is also very difficult. People get busy with life, don't do their part, the thing just sits in limbo if the same equal will to do it doesn't exist in every member of the group.
