TMNT content coming to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds!

Recent leaks related to the upcoming racing title Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds have revealed that several Nickelodeon DLC collaborations are on the way, featuring new racers, tracks, and vehicles from SpongeBob, Avatar, and yes, TMNT! Here's a look at the turtle-related bits that leaked:

Judging by the vehicle design, it looks like the Mutant Mayhem/Tales Turtles will be the ones involved in this particular crossover!

Needless to say, this is NUUUUUUUUTS! Given their shared publishing partner in IDW, I didn't think that the legit first ever full TMNT/Sonic crossover would be in a racing game! I was already pretty excited for CrossWorlds, but the idea of being able to drive Shadow the Hedgehog around in the Patty Wagon through the TMNT version of New York just makes me even MORE jazzed.

Which Turtles are they using? If it's the Mutant Mayhem Turtles I'm not really interested, but the Don in the first pic looks like 2012 Nick Don?

This will be interesting to see

That's because those aren't actual screenshots from CrossWorlds. Those are from two different Nickelodeon Kart Racers games that featured the 2012 and 87 Turtles. They're only used here as visual examples in the pre-planning document for the TMNT track.

What do you think Sonic and Shadow driving though streets of New York in TMNT Mutant Mayhem universe might be like?

Like the other tracks in the game, but starting in the sewers, moving through the subway, then finishing on the street. (Presumably dodging attacks from Superduperfly since the planning document mentions a boss attacking.)

I’ve been seeing the leaks on SonicRetro. This makes me so happy. In my head canon Sonic and the TMNT are friends. Literally one of my dream crossovers.

Would have preferred the OT turtles but I’m still happy with the MM ones and this Pizza Van is one of my favorites. It did nothing in the movie but this totally makes up for it.

I’ve had these together for awhile now. I was ahead of Sega.:D

(Don’t have a lot of shelf space but still need to get the rest for each.)

(Still waiting for a cart style Ecto-1 with someone driving it Hot Wheels.)

By my count, this is the first officially licensed crossover between the franchises and I'm shocked it's taken this long.

An argument could be made for Archie Comics' Sonic the Hedgehog #10 due to Archie holding the comic book rights to both franchises and working in a cameo but with the lack of any kind of "TMNT, Leonardo, et. al. and associated trademarks are owned by and used under license from..." I can't quite give it the nod.

Expect an IDW comic book company crossover announced soon for 2026!
(Assuming IDW comics are still around in 2026, of course)

How are you thinking we should expect crossover comic? I mean it would be really good to happen but just curious

Most likely it will be the IDW-esque continuity of Sonic and crew. As for the TMNT, I'm expecting something akin to what we got with the version of the Turtles that showed up in the Power Rangers crossovers, recognizable archetypes but not necessarily in continuity with anything else.

Great but I mean how are you sure we will get crossover comic?

Looks like the Turtles' DLC pack (the only one adding four additional drivers) will be the last one released in the initial Season Pass. It's scheduled for Q3 2026. (It might've been originally meant to coincide with Mutant Mayhem 2 before the delay.)

Why are they adding stuff from Sonic Prime when that show has ended? And... Presumably didn't do well since it didn't get more seasons?

Chaotix12345 06-06-2025 05:59 PM

Because they're still pushing it and it's currently airing on Nickelodeon, I imagine. I'm also fairly certain it did well enough due to Sonic's popularity. They just didn't greenlight anything past the initial episode order. (Which could be for a variety of reasons, be they with Sega, Netflix, WildBrain, or some other party.)

The Deadman 06-07-2025 04:47 PM

If this is legit, this will probably be the best Sonic Racing game of all time.

Wildcat 06-08-2025 04:08 PM

Sonic Prime technically had 3 seasons. It’s sold a lot of toys and got a Blu Ray boxset. It must have done well. It had a proper ending (even though there’s a vague cliffhanger). It ran as long as it needed.

All the crossover content is cool but I personally only really care about the TMNT because it’s one of my favorite things next to Sonic.

How well is it doing on Nick? I would've thought enough people watched the series on Netflix. I know Sonic Boom didn't do that well on Cartoon Network due to the early timeslots.

How is that possible, when it aired between November 2014 and November 2017? Regular televison may have been a thing when it began, but definately not when it ended 3 years later.

Meh...it's hard to get excited for anything Spongebob these days. They could be adding even more Sega characters.
