So... a new one shot has been annouced, it is related to the upcoming "The City That Never Dies" arc.
It looks like they're setting up a big event.

Since Hun appears as an undead, does that mean that Splinter and Tang Shen are actually like that as well?

Huh... I kinda expected him to come back from the dead eventually, just not as a zombie...

... Can we get a Thriller themed alt cover?

I don't get why IDW has to bring everyone back to life though, like with Shredder it's kinda expected (Shredder always either comes back to life at least once in every incarnation after being defeated, or makes some sort of return), but everyone else?

I mean they just killed Krang a second time, let's hope these deaths "stick."

Because IDW TMNT is like DC or Marvel. Everyone is coming back eventually and may even die multiple times. They aren't planning for any kind of "ending" and never were.

Yeah, nobody really intends for deaths to be permanent in comics like these. It pretty much just happens when a character is really unpopular or minor... And even then... Well, remember how a random Spider-Man clone from the 70's died in his first issue, was then brought back in the 90's for one of the infamous arcs of the series which ended with him dying again, only to come back 20 years later and die three more times before remaining alive?

Just be happy this it isn't that silly... Yet...

Since the start of Vol.2, I don't think IDW wants to stick to character continuity, you saw what they did with Splinter, Shredder, Slash...

We can pretty much expect anything to be on the table, like a reboot.

For some reason, I will probably not surprised they bring Bishop back in the future. Let's hope this is just a clone or he had his consciousness copied into a robot beforehand.

I gotta be honest: I didn't think Hun's death was going to stick, even way back. Though I started to doubt that with the Battle Nexus - and then they slap this in my face,lol.

So what to expect ?

The story is from Paul Allor who participated in the writing of :
- Shredder Micro
- Utrom Empire mini
- Turtles in time mini Issue 1 (Cretaceous Period)
- Mutanimals mini
- Universe : The War to Come arc (the story that introduces Zodi, where the turtles are caught between Stockman, Null and the EPF)
As well as Lost Causes arc (where Donatello deals with the tension on Burnow Island between Utroms and Triceratons).
- Dimension X mini : Issue 1 (adventure on the planet where emotions surpass physical laws)
- The Armageddon game the alliance : Issue 5 the April vs Null story
- Mutant Nation : Issue 5 the Pepperoni on the side story
- Battle Nexus mini : mainly focused on the Mirage Shredder VS Leonardo issue (but it isn't clear who decided what in the Battle Nexus storyboard, did he submit ideas for Ninjara and Slash ?)

He also wrote the IDW 20/20 story as well the Street fighter crossover.

I did enjoy most of his stories but not all, I wonder how he'll manage Hun...


The art is from Gavin Smith who drew :
- The Damage Done story arc from Vol.1 (Turtles, Alopex, Venus and co Vs Dr. Barlow, Leatherhead, Dirtchuck and Night Terrors).

I think Gavin is fitting for an undead story.

Stuck in a bar with all the other dead Purple Dragons, probably his old crew before 2012.
