Kevin Keegan has passed away
 

English former soccer player and manager Kevin Keegan passed away, Monday 20 July 2026. He was born on 10 February 1951. He successfully played for Liverpool FC as a striking midfielder during the 1970s, and for Team England.

In the 1990's, he was a manager.

He was also one of the first English players to play in Germany, and won the Ballon D'Or twice.

I mean, this is true of course but Kevin Keegan was an important figure in European football.

Portugal 3-2 England at Euro 2000 will forever be the most memorable game of Portugal's NT. Keegan was England's manager/coach at the time. I visited London shortly afterwards and his head was the the Madam Thussaud's wax museum haha

Hey bud, the only European football I ever heard of is when the NFL plays in London once a year.

I don't know anything about American Football so for comparison's sake, let's use Basketball and say Keegan's popularity and importance was comparable to maybe someone like Charles Barkley.
