Ah ok.
But, to be honest, that would surprise me even less. I don't think 1st generation immigrants are usually the ones that have trouble assimilating. Because, normally, those move abroad as adults with the intentions of getting a job and raising a family.
It's usually the 2nd generations that end up having assimilation problems since they often end up growing up in low income neighbourhoods with deep social issues, for starters. And then, they also often develop identity issues, not knowing whether they belong to the nation they were born in or their parents' nation.
