I just backed the heygears full 3D printer,

It cna do T Shirts, mugs, etc... as well as full color 3d Printing.

would anyone buy the technodrome models, or other custom models I Have?
they would come out fully painted, probably in about 8" size. I can also do some of the AI images direct from the show as full 3D prints.

I love etsy. it's a great place for the continuation of old toy lines and enhancements for things that might not otherwise get support anymore.

And with the influx of 3-D printing, etsy is a lot more than a "customizer's flea market" nowadays.

Not promising I would buy, but I certainly would consider it and mark your product and store on my Watch list!

Do you have the licensing rights from Viacom to do this?
Is it a requirement on Etsy? Do all the sellers just sell bootlegs in such a prominent market place not caring for copyright? How do they get away with it?

I do buy and sell on Etsy. I would not buy any of this.

That is not how copyright works.

There's a bunch of people selling highly sexualized art of videogame and anime characters there that they don't own, from Nintendo characters to Pokemon, to One Piece, Dragon Ball Z, etc. I always wondered how they get away with it.

Fan creations that people sell online are fascinating to me. Plainly put they are all copyright infringement.

There's people who make high end custom Chucky dolls to sometimes full lines they just rename/repackage them. Not bootlegs. Good quality items. There's a group that straight up made Ghostbuster toys.

Look at it. It's egregious. They just called them Fantazm Toys. Their Instagram is out and their Facebook was last updated in 2024. I don't know if they still do it. There's another called Plastic Geek that made a cartoon style Egon Ghost figure. It's no longer available though.

I know people sell fan made souvenirs of Sonic and other stuff at expos and conventions too.

I'm subscribed to Edgar-O on Youtube. He makes custom Chucky items (I can't access his site at the moment) I've never bought any but they feature Chucky and Tiffany's likeness. I guess it's his artwork but come on they're characters owned by Universal/Don Mancini.

Who knows how they get away with it but besides that it'd be more fulfilling to create and sell an original thing that you came up with. Not rely on other franchises to make extra money.

There's nothing wrong with fan made stuff as long as you don't sell it. I would not even say selling a one-off thing is bad but a lot of people treat their fan creations as a business.

The same way bootleggers do. They keep selling illegal stuff hoping no one sues them.

I recently bought the Beavis and Butthead King Turd collection on a flash drive from Etsy. I was very happy with my purchase, but afterwards I found out how to download cartoon episodes of basically anything on my cell phone and without torrents. So now I have the complete Beavis and Butthead collection as well as X Men 97 and some other things.

Why wait, when you can have AI generate the exact figure you want, get an image from all angles, and print it? only problem would be painting it.
