Is Krang an Utron?

Since the Utrons kinda remind me of the Krang, would he be considered an Utron gone bad, or just an evil brain?

turtleking 01-28-2004 06:27 AM

he's like a utrom, but really he just an evil brain alien. the utroms and krang are different species.

Karpo_007 01-28-2004 07:28 AM

No. His looks were based on the Utroms' desing, but he is some sort of alien who lost his body.

Krangfan 01-28-2004 08:47 AM

Poor Krang :tsad: But if I remember right, Michaelangelo's reaction to Krang the first time was hilarious! :tsmile: :tlol:

Bowser_Koopa 01-28-2004 08:51 AM

i remember nobody would believe he saw a brain

Ninjinister 01-28-2004 09:53 AM

Krang is the disembodied brain of an evil warlord from Dimension X.

i never understood he was a disembodied brain,
but in subsequent episodes, detailing his exile the
fellow barin aliens that kicked him out were in walkers too,
where they disembodied brains as well?!?!!

Possibly. However, there was also an episode where Krang's clones "reverted" back to their original bodies.

Face it, for all the fun, the old show was not known for continuity. Or making much sense overall.

J Legault 01-28-2004 03:40 PM

Back when I learned that the original comics had brain like creature just like Krang but i learned that Krang wasn't an Utrom but a spinoff of the Utrom.

I only remenber that Krang would be the brains of the plans and technology for shredder.

I need to wait for the upcoming DVD to come and see more of Krang.

No. He's not an Utrom either. :P

Whatever happened to reading the FAQ?

MW8979 01-28-2004 08:57 PM

Krang is not an Utrom. He is part of another species (Krangezoids). If you watch "Four musketurtles" (I think), you'll see a glimpse of other Krangs. If Krang had only collaborated with his buddies, he would have won a long time ago.

Coola Yagami 01-28-2004 09:40 PM

what did the krangs look like when they got their bodies back in the cartoon?

Jephael 01-29-2004 09:00 AM

They looked like these lizard type creatures, which probably came as a surprise to most fans. I would've figured he looked something like Lord Zedd from Power Rangers. (yea I know, it was a dumb show!)

hey hey hey, lets not insult shows here ;)

Just going by what DTM and Peter say.

re:

As someone mentioned, the old cartoon isn't known for continuity. Remember that in Krang's exhile from Dimension-X to Earth, his body split in half. But in a later episode with the Four Muskaturtles, Krang talks about impervium and how he and his colleagues were working on it when it disappeared. An established story fact is totally disregarded as you see other krangs in bubble walkers. This contradicts two things: 1) Krang crying to Shredder about a new body and 2) Krang having a body prior to his exhile

If I were to give a brief technical overview of the old cartoon, I would say that improvision, spoofing and alteration defined it more than anything. Elements of the cartoon were changed to match whatever story was conceived. It had very little in terms of static elements.

But considering that A) It's a cartoon; B) It's audience was mostly children and C) the cartoon world allows for more flexible and dynamic changes to storylines including established facts, it's not a very reliable source for information.
