Ahhh.... Yes.... Mutations Variations Now Out!

Yep, you herd it, just when you thought the spending was over, Playmates has a Mutations variation out. Sorry I don't have pictures but once you guys see them at your local Wal-mart, you will notice easily.

These variations are exactly the same front and back as the older ones but the difference is that there is a sticker on the bubble showing how they mutate now and the ooze inside comes with a sticker wraped around it saying "mutations ooze."

Something weird I noticed. Usually the figures which ship in packs of 10 or whatever come in that regular brown box. These, however, were not hung up, they were in one big box that was not brown....instead the boxes had the logo on them and the traditional yellow-to-green shell pattern. Interesting....

(P.S. sorry to contribute to your wallets losing some weight, but hey, someone has to do it!) 8)

Hey, it's your own fault if you're sucker enough to buy every variation. I'll probably end up buying one Mutation figure.. but mostly because I'd like to have the Ooze. :) [/i]

Kid Icarus 02-02-2004 07:35 PM

Roseangelo, the ooze is awesome ^_^. Infact, I haven't touched my Mutatin' Leo for about a week... but I still whip out the Ooze every couple days XD.

Eidiot88 02-02-2004 07:59 PM

Is the ooze like gack or somthing?

Kid Icarus 02-02-2004 09:00 PM

It's like the old Retromutagen Ooze they made... It is a big like Gack though, but more runny and sticky.

And I presonally find it makes better farting noises ;). .

Hamato_Saki 02-02-2004 09:53 PM

so are the mutations figures really worth the money? Ooze aside. Im not a completionist so I want to know... i do all the 5in regular figures (open and put figures on shelves) and want to know if I should bother with these.

Totally agree with you Putrescent. Variation huntin' is fun, even if you don't buy them. They're always fun to look at. :P I'll be checking today. If I see these, I'll at least pick up a Leo. I'll get a photo up If I find one. Thanks for the head up guys!

Y2Bogus 02-03-2004 06:12 PM

The ooze is more like Gooze than Gak. It's not as runny as Gooze, but not as stiff as Gak.

Ninjinister 02-05-2004 10:03 AM

Sheesh... you get variations... I haven't even seen Mutations OR Fighting Gear figures yet.

Hamato_Saki 02-23-2004 09:52 PM

Here are some shots of the "transforming" stickers. They're all that's different with the packaging.

As for the box that contains the new figures, it breaks down into a display shelf to contain the figures (I think it was 20 or 24 figures in the case)... four rows and the card bottoms slid into little slots... rather nicely packaged for a simple retailer package that would be thrown away in most stores if they're trying to keep their TMNT shelf space down.

Didn't get any pix of this... people were looking at me strangely enough when I was photographing action figure boxes with my digital camera.

Hyper Metal Sonic 02-23-2004 11:02 PM

I actually bought mine yesterday..

Turns out I have one of the "new" ones.

You'll have to excuse the crappiness of the photo, all I have to use at the moment is my extremely old webcam.

tOkKa 02-24-2004 04:36 AM

-->>.. i got all them .. now the gook and the gak.. n' a gooze with th ooze is comin out mah ears!!

..where the hell is my mutatin' Splinter??

Chewie 02-24-2004 09:14 AM

they actully are the same old toys with just a few new parts which makes them special edition re-issues to me so I got them anyways. The Foot Soldier is my fave because its got a foot tech head and we havnt gotten a foot tech action figure yet this might be as close as we get.
