Ultimate 30" TMNT Suggested Retail Price is...

$99 I really hope this is changed by June unless I won't be picking one up. If I wanted to spend that much money on the TMNT I would buy one of those awesome statues.

There is also acouple other pieces of news.

Bah. That'll be like, 129.99 Canadian. I refuse to pay that much for any toy.

malignant 02-24-2004 12:57 PM

If you add up all the $5.00 regular size turtle figures it would take to make one Huge 30inch figure though...it probably comes out at about $99 heh..

but yeah, you won't see me buying one at that price.

OA 02-24-2004 02:30 PM

Whoa..this is completely rediculous...i guess there gonna sell them at the same price as i saw them selling the huge Bratz barbie doll...i wonder how much they sold of them?..this really does suck thoug cuz i was lookin forward to adding them to my collection...does any one know if they are just making Leo, or are they making one of each? I will definately be spending that money on the statuesrather than on these toys...sheesh...

E-money 02-24-2004 02:39 PM

Mistake

This is probably the worst mistake Playmates has ever made. Those Turtles wont sell AT ALL! Collectors should not buy them because their price will not go up at all, and they will sit and rot on the shelves. I will get them in about 4 years when KB Toys has about 30 of them for sales at $30.00. No way I'm paying for that. What amoney making scheme. This is with out a doubt in my mind the worst series of TMNT during the new TMNT.

TMNTGal 02-24-2004 02:52 PM

That's insane, and this coming from someone who spends A LOT on toys. I doubt these will sell well at that price. No parent would spend that on their child. Heheheheh.... If they lowered it to $60 it would work. I still want that Leo!

I saw a picture of Mike awhile back so I'm pretty sure it is all of them.

Keep in mind this is the "Suggested Retail Price" it will probably end up at this price but there is a chance that it will change. I REEEAAAALLLLYYYY hope so because I was going insane about getting a Donatello.

$50-$60 would be good, I thought they would be $50 before I heard this :(

Not on action figures anyway ;).

That's insane, even if I did have a feeling that's how much they were gonna be. My nephew's gonna have to wait till christmas for one of these ;). And it'll be 1 of 3 things he gets then XD.

Roseangelo 02-24-2004 07:05 PM

You people are getting too upset. Of course it's not going to sell well at $99. That's why stores put items on clearance. Some patience and a reasonable price shall be seen.

jeff the cheff 02-25-2004 03:10 PM

Wow that sucks, I was really looking forward to getting theeses but I won't be able to pay for them. I'll wait until they get cheaper I guess... :(

Buslady 02-25-2004 05:33 PM

It only says Leonardo, they ain't doin' the others??

sucks....

well if they release a Raph, I'm waiting for a major sale or clearance.

Roseangelo 02-25-2004 05:51 PM

I'm sure they'll have all 4, this is just the one picture they've shown.

Wes 02-25-2004 05:54 PM

Yeah, no way I'd buy one of these things for $99. I'm not upset about it, though -- I probably wouldn't have bought them at $50-$60 either. They scare me. :P

Eidiot88 02-25-2004 07:48 PM

Like I said if it comes to buying a Ninja Turtle item for 99 bucks I'm going with one of those statues.

I will try and see if I can find the picture of the Ultimate Mike.

Drtooth 02-27-2004 12:03 PM

OW!!!! Feels like someone dropped an anvil on my foot.

I don't think these will do well at 100 bucks at ALL.... do you know any parents who would shell out money like that for a toy (no pun intended)

I am very deeply dissappointed... I mean, I was looking for 45-60 for a price tag, but 100 bucks is waaaaay too steeep.

Plus I have no where to put it!

azure turtle 02-27-2004 02:50 PM

Oy... I agree with all of you guys. $99 is way too much money to spend on an oversized action figure. As much as I'd like to own one, I think I'd rather spend $125 and get one of the statues. I was hoping the jumbo figs would sell for around $50, but I guess that isn't happening. Makes me wonder how many toy stores are actually gonna order them...

Halfshell 02-28-2004 04:41 AM

I gonna end up getting one a month it's too expensive to get all at once :dead:
