http://www.thetechnodrome.com/comics...ventures_7.jpg
As I've never read this comic could someone please tell me which turtle is which? They are hard to tell apart in those weird costumes. |
i can tell and ive never even read it...leo is top left, raph is bottom left, don is top right ( you can tell by hes knee pads.) and the only one left is mike so he is on the bottom right

sure thing.......
Leonardo Is in the metal white/sky blue outfit Donatello is in his sunrize bandana Mikey is in the red outfit with the head cover mask Raphael is in the black costume which he used to wear in the comic for awhile. hope this helps -Vaughn Michael |
Oh Jesus, how embarassing, didn't see the kneepads :tanime:
Thanx guys! |
I loved Raph's black costume!
|
How long did he keep the black costume afterwards?
|
Raph kept em for like... maybe 10 issues? Later in the ep that Shredder returned, a dude in robes came in and beat the snot out of the Shredder, revealing himself to be Raph, back and in his original red bandana look.
|
If I remember right, Raph stayed in the "alien costume" longer than the other turtles stayed in their wrestling outfit. He never turned into Venom, though.... :tsweatdr:

Issues #6-8 were what really got me into the Archie series.
Those costumes were pretty cool looking. |
the black raph was so sweet...
|
I remember when Raph finally went back to the old colors, he seemed to have a lot more edge to his fighting style. He single handedly took down Shredder and seemed to become the focal character of the writers. They always gave him the best lines and illustrations.

the outfit that was on Donnie was an idea from Eastman and Laird in the original series but it never happened until the Archie series.

little fun fact!
if you check on the official page (its on there somewhere), you'll here peter talk about how, when they created the turtles, they originally thought of having them each with a unique costume, but decided instead to go with red wraps on all 4 turtles. those orginal costumes are what you see on the cover :) |

That was the very comic that introduced me to my man Jim Lawson.

If my memory serves me right (I also have the comic in question as a back-up), they got the wrestling costumes back in Issue #37, after they meet up and are joined by Ninjara, meet Al 'Falqa (hope I wrote that right), got the Black Stone of Mecca back from the Shredder and Verminator-X, met up with Cudley the Cowlick whilst they, Ninjara and Master Splinter were hicking across the desert (originally enroute to subtropical Africa, but got sidetracked by Cudley), and wound up at Stump Asteroid, where the guys wound up wrestling each other, only to face Cryin' Houn', who was in a corny disguise going by the name of El Mysterio and saying his name over and over in Spanish (or at least, I THINK it was Spanish. If there are any Spanish-speaking members out there, help me out here, okay?). Anyway, the shocker of THIS issue was that DONNIE won the whole shootin' match (as we say here in my neck of the woods. Heh) by beating Raph (who, incidently, beat Leo, who beat Mikey), and THEN beating El Mysterio (AKA Cryin' Houn' in disguise, like I said at the start of this post). What really tickled ME was the thoroughly flabbergasted, "I can't believe this is happening!" look on Raph's face when Donnie pinned him to the mat. All-in-all, a good read. I highly recommend it.
