Normally it would be 'Mikey's in the house' meaning 'I'm here!' or 'I've arrived!' in a celebratory sort of way

The added "iz" in house is something originated by Snoop Dogg. He adds "iz" and "izzle" to different words, like the saying "Fo' shizzle" just means "For sure". They're just trying to make Mikey sound hip and up to date.

Actually, Snoop Dogg didn't invent this form of speech, it was commonly used by pimps and what not in the 70's; Snoop merely revived it. The way it should be used is by adding "izzle" to the last part of every word.

i.e.: Supercalafrajalysticexpialadocizzle...bizzle...

the "iz" thing I assume is a new fad which has sprung from this...

I still would have prefered if he had just said "Mikey's in da house."

No. It does not. It makes you sound like an uneducated lout. Only use it when you're making fun of ebonics. :D
