The Golden Turtles

Does anyone remember the Golden TMNT statues? All this talk reminded me of the one TMNT toy my family still had from my youth, and after digging out my brothers car (which was full of old boxes) outa 4 feet of snow, I found him! My Limited Edition, 5th Anniversary Leonardo! Aside from a bit of wear and tear upon his silver swords, Leo is in great condition! I'm amazed after all these YEARS of being packed around, played with, and boxed up moving form house to house, Leo is just fine, and he even has 2 plactic swords on his back! Does anyone else have Leo? Did they make any of the other Turtles this way?

I'll update with pics of Leo when I get my digi uploaded! :D

Yeah, my brother still has that figure. Still on the shelf after all these years. :)

Yeah I got one of those. (God Bless eBay!) Anyways, does anyone know if they made similar statues of the other 3 boys? A golden raph would look sweeeet! :D

Jo Dawn 03-16-2004 08:32 PM

I'm almost positive they only made a Leo. If anyone can correct me, please do. But I'm pretty sure it was just Leo.

Would've loved to have a Golden Donnie, though... :D

tmntman 03-16-2004 09:15 PM

It was just Leo. Though there was two packaging versions for him.

blueoakleyz 03-16-2004 10:10 PM

Yup I remember! and I had one too
I brought it to school too and displayed it on my desk and got made fun of of course lol but I didn't care
don't know where it's at now, along with all my other vintage tmnt
in storage i think

Did anyone ever notice that they gave Leo Raph's head for the statue?

I guess they also thought that Leo had the worst head of them all...

The Chuck 03-17-2004 01:59 PM

well, that'd be a terrible head to represent an aniversary fig.

TMNTGal 03-17-2004 09:10 PM

Actually they used Donatello's head sculpt.

atlianz 04-01-2007 10:40 AM

Yeah, I only remember a Leo figure for the 5th anniversary collector turtle.

Whoa I never noticed that it was Don's head on it before. Leo's head was strugglin' pretty hard originally. I have one too, still in the box though. Isn't there like a yellow background box and a blue background box?

Yea, those are the 2 variations...

AquaParade 05-03-2007 09:38 AM

Wow, almost forgot about that. I once tried to trade my neighbor a cd player boombox for his:P

soccerstud652 05-03-2007 08:44 PM

What is the going price for one of these mint in the yellow box?

ajistheman 05-03-2007 10:41 PM

I have one of these beautiful Leos. Got it from the Turtles fan club. I THINK (memory could very well fail me here) it was $20 back in the day. I know you want the CURRENT price, but I have no idea what that is
