New Cartoon Interview with 4Kids Entertainment

This interview was so much better than that conducted by the idiot who interviewed Dan Berger a while ago. Everyone who asked questions was really respectful (many from our very own forum here!), and I thought everyone involved was very classy. :)

That's how an interview should be conducted. Just a simple question-and-answer session. Not some free-for-all that's supposed to resemble one, if you get my subtle - or not so subtle - hint.

"Come on, Michaelangelo! Think healthy for a change! You had peanut-butter and jelly on your pizza last night!"
"No way, bud! I had chocolate chips and caramel fudge!"

Leonardo and Michaelangelo, from "Return of the Shredder"

That was a good interview. And i pretty much liked the answers. But the "no death" is still kind of bugging me...

azure turtle 09-18-2002 09:36 PM

Yes, it was a well done interview. ;) Don't worry too much, Karpo. They may still hint at it, but there's no way they're going to show any death scenes on a Saturday morning cartoon.

The Lone Turtle 09-19-2002 12:51 AM

Nice :) the thing that interests me, is that the turtles will take their bandannas off, unlike the old cartoon, should be sweet :)

Lanagirl 09-19-2002 04:10 AM

wow

:o Where can i read this interview? I'd like to see it too

The interview being referred to is on the home page of this webpage under News/Updates. But here is the link in case you can't find it:

It's a good interview, complete with commentary from some members of this very forum. :)

Bebop: "I wonder why the delivery guy stopped here?"
Rocksteady: "Maybe he was visiting his Mommy."
Bebop: "I wish I could visit my Mommy."
Rocksteady: "Why don'tcha?"
Bebop: "I tried. But every time she sees me, she runs away screamin'!"

From "Pizza by the Shred"

Yea, i really liked how it turned out. Maybe in the near future I can get another interview with someone else, maybe from Mirage or something.

Karpo_007 09-19-2002 02:07 PM

That would be nice.

Nturtle 09-19-2002 04:32 PM

hmmm... well most of these seem to be good signs, although I was hoping for t least some death, I like how Machias described the old cartoon Splinter as a furry old raisin!!!!

Deathknight 09-19-2002 08:04 PM

Personally, I don't think that using nearly identical plots from the comics is a really great idea. It's just a shortcut so the writers don't have to do any thinking which is pretty sad. Doing something like that reminds me of Blast from the Past. The only reason that episode was probably done was because they didn't make the season episode quota. I want some original ideas/plots, not remakes. Still, the new show could use a touch more of the old cartoon in it.

Well, I dont want Splinter just sitting around waiting to die...I want the same kind of Spinter from the archies...one to jump in and help whenever he can!

Deathknight 09-19-2002 08:50 PM

What was really funny about Splinter in the cartoons is he was constantly getting captured and it was the TMNT's ninja skills that saved him, yet Splinter could beat all 4 of them at once.

Machias Banshee 09-19-2002 09:11 PM

Well, they probably didnt want Splinter showing up the guys all the time...

I remember reading somewhere that there will be original episodes. I believe the majority will follow the comics, but some of the eps will be written just for the cartoon.

Lanagirl 09-20-2002 04:56 AM

blast from the past?

 Hello again guys.. It's so interesting to read your opinions but i've got a question as usual :P What are you talking about? A blast from the past? I remember such episode in cartoon. My sweet and dear Shredder   kidnapped some documents and then Splinter lost his memory and so on... But i don't think you meant this episode...
The interview is real good and i'm happy Oroku will be ok

Ninja Turtles Cartoon Fan 09-20-2002 05:34 AM

What was your question from "Blast from the Past?" Either it's too early in the morning, or I have finally flipped my shell.

"What's going on?"
"Not a lot of cleaning, that's for sure."

Donatello and Raphael, from "Shredderville"

Lanagirl 09-20-2002 06:25 AM

well...

:goofygri: Never mind.. i guess my english is so bad so nobody can understand what i am trying to say....
Well,as I( a nice girl but a goof) understood, Mirage comics will be the main plot of the cartoon. I like Archie. They are cute:-)
Guys,i'm trying to read mirage comics now
what bird are they talking about? desolation? What shred was doing in the turtles' sewer? It's so hard to understand them... and this story with Oroku Nagi:-) I wish they didn't show it to kids.....

Kali 09-20-2002 09:09 AM

Well, they aren't going to follow the comics word for word. They are going to use the basic plot points and lines from the comics, but have original ideas, and make it a bit more kid friendly. They've said there will be original characters and story ideas, so there's still a lot of surprises in store for us.

Lanagirl 09-20-2002 09:26 AM

:D Well,i hope they will be friendly... But nobody answered me about this bird...
Yeah, and tell me please how do you have those pictures that reprezent your nicknames? i wanna such picture too:-)

azure turtle 09-20-2002 01:19 PM

A bird?? I don't remember reading anything about a bird in the Mirage comics... Then again, I don't have very many of those.
