Mirage Vol. 4 #15 Discussion (Spoilers)
This was an awesome issue! Lots of new developments and good action sequences all around.
I liked that Mikey seems to be bonding with Regenta. It's nice that he has someone else to talk to, and a possible love interest. I wonder how her guards will react to them sneaking off though. His mentioning of the kid thinking he was a cartoon was a nice little nod to the TV shows. The fight between Raph and Fugitiod kicked shell. Nice to see Fugitoid's gotten some upgrades from out little pink friends and he seems to be able to handle his own. Raph's going to cause alot of destruction now that's he free. Don's story is interesting. It's still a mystery as to what the dino's are, and the wood people, but they trapped him good. Don's gone back to the fish bowl  I wonder what nasty thing the foot have done now...something to piss this warrior off and make him see any allies of them as evil. Maybe they're publishing bad things about him  The only thing, I didn't know who the winged guy was. He reminded me of Ace Duck cross bred with Bug man. So, who was he? Overall, I give this issue a 9/10. It held my interest, had good action and nice story development. |
The only problem I had with this issue was... at the end I wanted more!!! Now the two month wait. Can someone make a counter for this?
Don's piece of the story stole the cake for me. I really want to know more about those dinosaur things and the aliens. How are they releated, and where in the shell did Don get transported to? |
I read Laird's letters pages again...this idiot noob asks him about the "Utrom Shredder" saying crap like "YoU maDE ShreDDer Krang"
|
Wow! What a terriffic issue. I'm officially sold on the new monster Raph, whatever he is (Laird confirms that he is not a vampire in the letters section).
Raph is beast and a half. He decapitated Fugitoid and he blasted Raptar to hell. I'm also really into Leo's battle with the Eunuch warrior. I want to know who or what those guys are and why they hate the Foot so much. Also it seems like we're finally learning a little more about the chaos in Venezula. |
This was a great issue. I don't think we learned much about the dinosaurs(except that they like to talk like Gollum. But then, we already knew that. It's still funny though. ) or those plant guys, not yet anyway.
The letters were really good though, I'm glad to hear that Leatherhead will be showing up in the comics again(maybe in a later issue of Tales?) and on the new show again as well. |
So what it all sums up to is this:
Fugitoid- Decapitated Raptarr-Shot, presumably dead Donatello-Shrunk down and put in some weird chamber Raph- rampaging monster Leo- ass beat by other-demensional warrior Mikey- flirting.... ...someones getting the best of this situation. Anyway it was an awesome read, and action packed to boot! Also Laird mentioned in the letters collum that Leatherhead will be returning in the cartoon and comics. :D hope Fugitiod and Raph get better. |
I haven't gotten this issue yet, but it definitly sounds bad-ass! I'm sure Fugitoid will be okay. He's a robot, so he can be easily repaired.
|
For us (me) who haven't read basically anything from the Mirgae TMNT (except the first two issues or so), What has happened to Raph? I know that it isn't anyone that knows for sure but so far, how have he managed to become...whatever it is?
|
Raph got a bit drunk one night, and while walking home (seriously) he was attacked by vampires who wanted to try "alien" blood. The mutagen crossed with whatever changes people into a vampire changed Raph into some really big, ugly, super strong and angry mutant turtle thing. He was being contained, but broke out. Fugitoid tried to stop him, but got his head ripped off. I'm sure he is ok. I doubt Fugitoid would go that easily.

the vamps should have a few problems of their own drinking mutated reptile blood... |
It's all opinion really...and more or less I know how viciously Volume Four bashers make thier prescene felt in these review threads
Raph's current arc is to deal with the monsters he's supressing...I think at the least, he has become a monster himself and probably has to fiight for inner peace to tame the svage that exists outside. It's a compelling story...and another example of how great Laird is. |
^^ Well said. All I can say is I loved this issue. The whole Don story has really caught my attention. I loved Raph shooting Raptarr. I hate that guy. Also was I the only one who laughed out loud when ol Honeycutt got his block knocked off by Raphie boy?
|
I'm sure MIke likes the fact also that he's got a Dino girl on his mind... ;) :P
|
 You know me well!

other than that the other story lines are ok. im not a total v4 basher...just defensive of Raph and when he's mistreated...even by his own creator! |
I don't think Mr. Laird would purposely mistreat Raphael, but I'm sure he has a good reason for having this done to Raph.
|
i sucked up on a letter to laird and i got my letter in this issue. i loved this one. I want more. I want to know more about april. Next issue cover looks awesome

Laird is giving Raph "tough love"...even IF "Tough Love" means screwing every part of his character up.
