Mirage Vol. 4 #16 Discussion (Spoilers)
 

I grabbed this issue yesterday!
Some parts of it I really liked, like the the whole Mikey in Maine thing, seeing as I live in Maine...

Leo's comment about Mikey was great as well.

Donny's story is getting weirder every issue.

Raph vs. Leatherhead, this should be good. I hope Leatherhead puts up more of a fight that Fugitoid.

Did anyone else get confused by the Splinter flashback/vision?

Despite my distaste for the artist, I liked the issue quite a bit. THe Mike and Regenta thing is really starting to drag, though. Yeah, she's a princess and he's a peasant yet they like each other. Big deal. Just have them kiss and get it over with.

THe flashback sequence was done expertly, IMO. And the last page is a joy to look at. Monster Raph vs Leatherhead. Sweet.

The scenes with Leo and the Foot are starting to lead somewhere and I'm wondering exactly where the hell Don is and how he's going to escape.

An all around good issue, with the exception of the Mike segment.

The entire issue rocked I am loving the the Mike and Regenta stuff the most. an interesting dynamic with in the book. its not just fight fight fight. its a way of showing a different aspect of each character. all around good book.

Grrr. My local comic shop didn't have it in this week. My copy should be in next week. If not, I'll just have to order it from Mirage's back order service. Sounds like it's a good issue, Can't wait to read it.

This issue was great.

*I'm glad Mike and Regenta(how do pronounce that?) are getting along. The only thing I'm afraid of is that since she is a princess it won't work out and he will get his heart broken :tcry:

* Donnie is in a mess. That whole situation is just freaky and I'm sure in the end it will get ugly. Maybe I'm wrong though and they'll work something out :tsurpris:

*Poor Raph! Everything bad seems to happen to him. I am glad he won't stay that way. Letherhead is in for a fight. Raph will definitly kick his @$$. :ttwisted:

*I am so happy Leo was not killed or seriously mamed. I would haved freaked cause he is my favorite. :tlove: He looked soooo cute trying to get that sword out of his shell and Karai had to help him out. I've noticed that he is not so serious and has lightened up. For instance, he makes funny remarks like in issue 15 while they were waiting for the warrior to show, he said he wish he brought something to eat (a Mikey-ish coment) and his reaction in issue 14 upon seeing that the dead warrior was "missing something" :tanime:

Overall issue 16 was great. I just wish they would explain April's myterious origin. She isn't human I guess. Is she an alien? A clone? A mutant? Maybe that is why she and Casey can't have kids :cry: I am dying of suspense :sick:

The TMNT comics seem to come out on different dates in different areas. I know people were reading Tales #3 a week or two before my shop got in their shipment, but I was reading it a week or two before other people in different cities got theirs. Weird. Maybe because it isn't such a mainstream book.

Maybe.... Mirage is also a pretty small publsher, usually they are out at my local comic shop same time as when people on here get them... Maybe I will drive down there tonight and check if they have it. I know the one younger guy that works there was like, your Ninja Turtles book came in this week lol, but he wasn't working the last time I went there. I usually go the day they get their shipment in Thursday....

Pretty much all comics are distributed by Diamond Comics and they come out everywhere in USA and Canada on the same date but being such a big company it's common for something to accidentally get left out of a shop's order.

If you go to diamondcomics.com and go to the shipping lists section, you can see what comics are coming out each week. However, they almost never list the date of the TMNT stuff until the week it's actually coming out.

Got TMNT #16 yesterday along with Tales of the TMNT #3. I really enjoyed how they moved along each turtles' perdicament, and it's getting me excited to see when and how their paths will soon cross.

Hmm, I am leaving right now to go pick up that issue, and hopefully my comic shop will have it.

Another interesting issue. Unfortunately since each storyline only gets about 6 pages each, they seem to be taking forever. I'm really into Leo's, Raph's, and Don's stories. I'm not terribly interested in Mikey's but perhaps that will change.

True, but also sometimes their shipping lists are off by a week as well in some areas. I know that here, the last two issues of Tales have been a week later than the shipping list said(though it did ship the correct week in other areas), while TMNT has been perfectly on time.


Anyway, I really enjoyed this issue. Any comic which can get the word "Fortean" in automatically gets my support, and the only story which wasn't great in this one was Mikey's(his story is still good, but it's starting to drag a bit.... I think eveyone gets it by now).

I'll add something new to the discussion. Since it seems I agree with most of you. Good stuff but Mikey's was too long and dull (I skipped it when re-reading)

I liked Cha-Ocho's 'accidentally' hitting Leo and how the sword got stuck in his shell :lol: The fan letter complaining about how tough these guys are (they have swords that cut through other swords) was funny

I really liked Raph's inner torment too. Reminds me of Sons of the Silent Age

I also noticed how the meat delivery guy mentions getting the Xihad to take care of aliens. Because like one of the guys trying to help Raph said, it seems the 'vampires' might be Xihad, out to infect aliens

i totally called the leatherhead versus raph fight. Pretty good issue. Nothing real special. We didn't learn alot. I liked the end were it showed how the monster raph is took over mentally. the cover for next issue should be leatherhead and raph

I just read it. Pretty good isse. The ending was the best. The last page of Raph and Leatherhead staring each other down was awesome. I can't wait for next issue!

nope it's not the cover to the next issue is the images on the last page of the letters section.
it's actually one of my favorite Jim lawson drawings so far and I can not freaking wait to see how michael dooney paints it!

ooops poor typing. I knew that was the next but i think they should have had raph and leather for the cover.

The comic store near me hasn't gotten this yet, but I am going to pick up Tales #4 in a couple hours, but I wonder why they haven't gotten this one yet.
