Like I've commented before, too, that low effort stuff is annoying and too much of Reddit is exactly that. I will scroll through to see if there's anything interesting on the TMNT sub, but in most cases there is very little. I mean, I don't care how two characters from unrelated franchises would interact. How about you come up with it, maybe even as a short little fanfic blub if you wish, and if you think it's fun enough to share THEN maybe post it? Just asking how they'd interact isn't a discussion, it's simply a prompt as a request that other people put in the effort to entertain you with your idea.
Then there's the other part you guys were pointing out, this "can't be negative!" trend that probably permeates nearly every fandom anymore. Granted, plenty of them are probably young and sure, a lot of us were more sensitive at their age and quicker to react, too... but plenty of older people have jumped on that oversensitive bandwagon, too and these days that reaction isn't even to anything personal (which would be justified), it's about something they simply like but have made it FAR too much of their own personal identity so they act like it's a personal attack if you dare even critique something, let alone dislike it.
That just takes WAY more energy than I can muster to care what some internet stranger thinks of something I happen to want, like, or dislike. Get mad at my opinion and well, I guess I should be flattered that you find my views so important?

Younger people just don't seem to read books anymore. Unless they're forced to by school and nowadays it's probably easier than ever to find abbreviated versions or something. I feel like schools and parents have forgotten that literacy isn't just being able to read and write. Hence why the term "functional illiteracy" is a thing. And it really shows on Reddit with a ton of its users not being able to understand nuance and having very black and white views on many topics.

Because this place was founded in 2000 or 2001 as a place for fans nostalgic for the FW series to gather. When the 2k3 series came out it was so different from the OT. I remember being on the internet often already in 2003-2005 and there was a significant minority of TMNT fans already who hated the FW series and considered it awful. They all loved the 2k3 toon. Krang probably wanted to avoid those kinds of flame wars. Plus, during the 2k3 series, Peter Laird did his best to keep the 87 toon irrelevant and a relic from the past and thus its legacy was much more fragile in the 2000s than it was from 2012 on.

Same. But some threads just get locked or achieved after 6 months and no longer allow new replies. I guess it depends on the sub.

I think that's rather obvious. I dunno how people can see it as a sequel to the 90s movies. I haven't watched it since... 2009 maybe? So correct me if I'm wrong but it's not like I'm going to rewatch that dull movie all over again just to double check that.
