I rescued a dog 2.5 years ago from the shelter. He is a Whippet/Heeler mix that came in as a stray. At the time, they believed that he was 7 years old. Shelter dogs make the best pets because they tend to be more affectionate because they know that they are rescued. Good luck with your sweet dog.
