Chris Allan

What did Chris Allan do inbetween the years that the Archie series ended and prior to the few Tales issues he's done? Does he work on any other major comic book series?

In terms of work he has been a staff artist for different companies, including one candy company, I believe. He definitely did more comics in the 90s with TMNT Adventures, Lil' Archie and Sonic.

This was a couple years ago, but I seem to remember him mentioning to me that he drew some Sonic. No idea what issues.

There were times I glanced at some older Sonic comics and wondered... so that's very interesting.

Chris does a lot of advertising and packaging work these days. He is also working on a commission for me at the moment

I've been shopping his portfolio around the game industry for him recently, and while I cant post the whole portfolio (as it has too much contact information in it for the open internets), his client list is as follows:

Warner Brothers
The Walt Disney Company
Tastykake Baking Co.
Mirage Studios
Archie Comics
Concord Confections
Tootsie Roll, Inc.
Welch’s
Unisys
Guideposts For Kids

P.S. While I can't immediately confirm or deny the Sonic connection, it does not mention the property in his portfolio

He has an internets friendly portfolio here as well: http://www.cjksallan.com/portfolio_i...portfolio.html

How much is a commission?

Chris is very talented. He sent me some goodies a few years back when I bought a couple of his original pages from him. Very talented indeed. Hey thanks for the info!

i might be in the minority here but i find his TMNT work to be rather average. their plastron seems unwieldy and awkward and characters feel off model. i did enjoy his sonic work though.

Man, I love the way he draws turtles so much. I really hope Neca gets around to doing figures in his style.

Yes, I agree! I have all the Mutanimals NIB, I’m just waiting for some proper Archie turtles before I display them.
