Choose a director to make a TMNT movie.

I'm really curious. If you could choose a director to make a TMNT movie, who would it be?
I'd LOVE to see a TMNT film directed by Quentin Tarantino.

Maybe I'll start listing the directors I DON'T want to see...

Zack Snyder (because he'd have a hard time finding Jesus imagery in TMNT)
Christopher Nolan (loved his Batman movies, but no...)
Joel Schumacher
M. Night Shyamalan (tried his hand at Nick's Avatar: The Last Airbender)
James Wong (most recent work was Dragonball: Evolution)

I'm sure I'll think of more for my naughty list.

Well, after seeing Man of Steel and owning Watchmen for a few years, I'm convinced that Zach Snyder knows what he's doing... id rather him do Turtles than Michael Bay, Quentin Tarantino or anyone. speaking of which i wouldn't trust Quentin with TMNT... he would make it too gory or stick in too much bad language or sex. That stuff can be good and all but that's definitely not what i think of when i think TMNT. But then again I don't trust Michael Bay anymore either.

sounds like someone needs some Jesus..... Snyder doesn't squeeze Christian imagery to everything he can on purpose.... he does it as fan service... in man of steel, the symbolism is important among fans because of what superman represents. no one complained like this when Bryan Singer did it in the last movie. and in Watchmen, it was taken straight from the novel... that was a fan service too.

i'd say guillermo del toro i don't know i just love the direction he took with hellboy 1 and 2 mostly he never uses cgi alot he uses makeup and pratical effect's in background and his mood when it comes to it,is very atmospheric.

As both a Superman fan and a Christian, I'd just rather see Hollywood do a good Superman movie rather than trying so hard to explicitly made me think "Hey, look how similar Superman is to Jesus" while watching the film. I thought the same thing about most of the promos for Singer's Superman Returns. I liked Man of Steel, but I didn't love it. Fortunately, it was still much better than Superman Returns.

Nothing about Man of Steel really impressed me about Snyder though. Other than the trailers, which were really well done.

toche sir, i respect your opinion. however i loved the movie! i think it was done in the best fashion as far as appealing to new audiences and a new generation

Perhaps Sam Mendes,Rob Minkoff,Prachya Pinkaew,
Guillermo Del Toro,James McTeigue,Ronny Yu, Pete Travis,
or maybe Zach Snyder.

Whoever it is had better do a good job or they'll be crucified like Joel Schumacher was after Batman and Robin. He should have marketed that as a tribute to the 60's Adam West Batman. I bet fans would have taken that a little better that way. lol

Joe Cornish. Attack the Block had the right mix of urban grit, unique sci-fi imagery and teenagers being teenagers.

Steve Wang to me is the PERFECT choice for a TMNT film.

Most might not know him, but he is both a make-up FX guy (who worked on films like The Monster Squad and other creature effects) but also directed two very solid films.

First up, with only a tiny $600,000 budget he made a solid flick called Guyver 2: Dark Hero with Solid Snake himself David Hayter as the Guyver. This clip below shows that he can do stuff with practical suits, great fight choreography, with a miniscule budget.





And if that did nothing, there is also his next film which he did with Mark Dacascos, the extremely underrated action film called Drive!





Guyver 2: Dark Hero shows he could use Practical suit work with choreography, with a tiny budget. Drive shows he can do the humor/comedy with characters as well as insane fight sequences (and Drive only cost $3 million to make).

Put Guyver 2: Dark Hero and Drive, give Steve Wang the budget that they're doing with this film, and it would work wonders!!

I'll throw my 2 cents here and will go with Gillermo Del Toro. I think he did a phenomenal job with the HELLBOY movies. He's got a great vision for bringing characters like these to life.

Sounds like a good idea, but how about someone who knows the franchise AND is completely unknown? Imagine him or her making a hit TMNT film. That will get the director on the map.
