Great finale to season one! I kinda knew what was going to happen about who Karai really is. Lots of nods to previous episodes from the Old Toon to the 2k3 series along with some movie elements too. I really can't wait for this Fall!

The dancing bit at the end was the absolute worst. Why must every CGI project feel the need to end everything with a lame dance sequence.

Well...atleast they weren't singing too.

Yeah, that was cringeworthy. I averted my eyes.

"Not all of us can sit around and do nothing."

Burned!

'Bout time somebody called Splinter out on his motives for never going out of the sewers. We still don't know his motives for not wanting to go up to the surface with the turtles, but it was nice to see him irritated about being hassled about it by April.

Also, kudos for showing Splinter running like a rat. First time ever for that, I think!

Ohhhh boy, were do I begin? The finale was just amazing.....I loved it so much! Gosh, my list of highlights is gonna be really long...well, I better start now!

Kirby O' Neil. Just, the way they played it put was amazing. I was NOT expecting the foot and Karai to show up and grab April...I though that Kirby was just there to lead April to the Kraang, but no. They had him give her to the foot, which used her to get Splinter, and after they had Splinter she was sent to the Kraang. I thought that was just brilliant, I really wasn't expecting that! Well played, well played.

The secondary characters. Seeing Karai, the mousers, Dogpound, Fishface and Metalhead just made me happy. I really wasn't expecting to see ANY Of them, so seeing Karai being a plot point (I'll get to that later), Dogpound and Fishface attempting to take down Splinter (and talking about him before he showed up), and Metalhead back in the action to help the turtles and the mousers helping the foot just made me smile from ear to ear. They were all great, sometimes shoving a lot of characters into an episode/finale can turn out bad, but this just worked perfectly.

April standing up to Splinter. April basically told to Splinter's face what we've been saying on here since the premiere of the show...why isn't he helping? I thought it was really brave of her, and the way Splinter snapped at her made me feel bad for April..I just loved when she and Kirby were going to "warn the turtles" and she told Splinty that not everyone just sits around doing nothing. Well, as proven by this episode...he does quite a lot. Which brings me to my #1 highlight.

The Splinter and Shredder fight. How could anyone not be on the edge of their seat while watching this? It was just plain epic. We see they're pretty much evenly matched, if it weren't for Splinter's mutation that is...which brings me to my next point: Splinter using his "rat powers" was just AWESOME! He broke off Shredder's gauntlet with his teeth. WITH HIS TEETH! How awesome was that? The whole fight just gave me chills...especially when Shredder's helmet got knocked off. Holy s**t, his face is jacked up. It was actually pretty scary and dark, but awesome to see nonetheless. I could go on and on about every detail to the fight (like how we saw more of Shredder's lair. He has an underground cavern with flame throwers in it for pete's sake!

The whole Karai/Miwa thing. We now know for a fact that Shredder DID lie to Miwa, they pretty much imply that Miwa thinks that Splinter was the one to kill her mother...the flash back was so ute but then turned dark as hell. Seeing Hamato Yoshi and Tang Shen playing with their new (and adorable, may I add) baby just pulled at my heart strings, but seeing Shredder kidnapping her, with his face all burned as Splinter, heavily injured watched him walk alway with his baby, who he thought died in the fire just gave me feels and chills...I love how they even used segments from the flash back from Rise of the Turtles...Karai telling Splinter that he's a coward and how her name is Karai, and then seeing Splinty's sad mouse face made me really sad...oh boy...this post is getting long isn't it?

To be honest, I think all the secondary characters stole the show. Everything going on with Splinter, Shredder, Karai, April and her father was (to me) just a lot more interesting than the main plot (probably because we've seen so many "Kraang hunts" in the show before) but that's not to say the main plot wasn't really great as well.

The turtles' fight with the Kraang and Traag (who I didn't expect to see!) was awesome. Where the heck is Leatherhead though? I miss him We saw Traag without him, so that must mean that the Kraang have him locked up somewhere in Dimension X. As always, there were A LOT of funny one liners from the turtles, like when Leo asked why Donnie didn't tell him that there was a forcefield, and Donnie was like "Because I wanted us to fail....OBVIOUSLY I DIDN'T KNOW!" XD

Raph's moments with Spike (spike gives him his paw like a little dog ) were just plain adorable...it's gonna break my heart to see that lil' guy get mutated next season...

Leo's moments were the best out of all the turtles...He nearly risked his life like, three times just to save the world and ensure his family's safety..now THAT'S a real leader...Raph saving him from the fall from the building was epic as well, and Raph feeling all stressed after he thought Leo died was great..It really shows that Raph isn't just some macho jerk...a great Raph moment.

Mikey and Donnie were great, but sadly didn't get as many great moments as Leo and Raph did. I love Leo and Raph's relationship, but let's just hope this series doesn't turn into TMNT 2007..which I doubt, I mean, Leo is the leader and all..and could be considered the main turtle, so it's fitting for him to be the focus of the first finale..

Kraang Prime. It's kind of hard for me to talk about KP, since we really didn't see much of....it (is it a boy or a girl). It seems really awesome and threatening, but to be honest it wasn't in the finale as much as you would think, it was really just saved for the climax. The suit is pretty cool, and even has a reference to Krang's android body. (the turning fork/radar thing on top)

The Technodrome. I am beyond excited that the Technodrome is back! Although the design is not nearly as cool or memorable as the original, it was still more realistic and a pretty cool design at that. It doesn't really lend itself to a playset () but you never know, we didn't see the whole interior. Now that it stuck underwater (like it usually did in the OT) I could see them changing the design a bit, to maybe have wheel or something at the bottom. It was very cool, and I hope it become a main vehicle/base for the Kraang.

Leo stabbing the power cell, and doing all those sick ninja moves out of the building was epic! As was the dance scene at the end! I really don't like Kirby staying with them though, for reasons I've established before. It just kind of makes me less into April now, as...well...IDK, it's just weird having her dad down there breathing down her neck. April, that fan is way too dangerous. April, you shouldn't be down here in these filthy conditions. It's sad to say this, but I kind of hope they get rid of him somehow, like getting trapped in Dimension X..sorry if that's too harsh, he just seems really awkward and pointless. Like now that they think the Kraang are done for, are they gonna move back into wherever they lived? How is April and Splinter's relationship going to expand? (and I mean the father/daughter one, Zulithe ) I'm sure it'll all work out in the end..we can always have April just visit their lair all the time and help them on missions. Also, will the Kraang STILL be after April after this? It's obvious now that she is human and just has a sixth sense, so IDK how this will go on.

Donnie looking at April dancing at the end

Boy, that was a long post. I could go on and on about every little detail about the finale (I pretty much did already ) but I'm gonna end it here. All in all the finale was perfect, and exceeded my expectations by far! I can't wait for Season 2, which (believe it or not) starts NEXT MONTH! Quick season breaks, right? I guess all of those hiatuses were worth it..It's hard to believe that the season's over already..oh, I'm starting to ramble on aren't I? Well, it was a perfect episode and I cannot wait to obsess over it and watch it multiple times...now I only have one more thing to say...BRING ON SEASON 2, I LOOOOVE BEING A TURTLE, BOOYAKASHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

I'm glad I didn't read the spoilers thread as as soon as I heard the T-word on Tonight's show as was so excited that the ultimate Foot Fortress would be back! Sure, Shredder hasn't even entered it just yet, but Kraang Prime and an April kidnapping as shown on the trailer for the episode was enough for me. Hats off for Nick and it is worth the celebration for the night as Splinter said!

The Technodrome location for Season 2 looks to start out where it was in Season 7 of the OT. The pod sequence capturing the civilians was probably my favorite part since it showed that the Turtles must defeat Kraang Prime to save the city. That said, with the Technodrome showing signs of life along with the Season 2 trailer shown, I'm definitely hoping the momentum continues right up until the Bay movie is released. That April kidnapping was so dramatic with the two Foot appearing out of nowhere, and then when she was explaining how Kraang Prime (great voicing by Roseanne BTW) would sap her energy, discovering how close she was to becoming part of their control (it haunted me as I recently red the old 1989 NES manual that mentioned that a kidnapped April would turn to the Foot) seemed to spell doom. Also, great Splinter/Shredder battle along with the Miwa/Karai dilemma. Mikey was funny as always, Raph continued his daring image, and Leonardo surely showed the courage when he dealt the saving blow and showing who the true leader of the team is. That climax would make a great level in a future video game with all of the pitfalls, laser action, and chain attacks.

One thing seems to be missing thought: Playmates commercials, I haven't seen any since last fall! If more people knew about them (not that they're selling poorly as Amazon's rankings show), more would be into this

Fantastic end to a great season. Tremendous finale.

- The Splinter / Shredder scenes were the best part for me. I found myself wishing they would cut away from the Turtles to get back to them. Some great stuff for Splinter that I can't wait to see them build on next season.
- Leo was a champ with the double sacrifices.
- We all knew the Karai/Miwa twist was coming but I thought the way they had Shredder reveal it was great.
- Loved that we got the Technodrome but it seemed a little underwhelming to me.
- Loved that Kraang Prime's body had the tuning fork nod to the OT Krang. That was the only similarity I saw between the two characters.
- I love that they played both episodes together. Made it seem more epic that way. Hope we get more 2 part episode events in the future.

Splinter vs. Shredder didn't disappoint. The fight was amazing.

Glad to see the show finally confronted the fact that Splinter never left the lair.

I'm pretty sure that all season premieres and finales will be 2 parters...well, at least I hope so! I'm sure we'll get some 2 parters just for the heck of it anyway (all shows have specials...I'm hoping for some holiday ones )

Fantastic way to end the season!! Wahoo! I do hope they eventually explain April's unique mental ability or whatever they were trying to extract from her. Me thinks she is not quite human however, that may be stating the obvious

Was there a SotO reference or did I laugh at that too loud for no reason.
