The great number of rats started to get on Frost's nerves. Maybe seeking passage wasn't such a good idea. "Y-yes, you do seem to be very busy," Frost stammered, "so we will go back to where we came from. We meant no harm..." Frost joined in backing up with Blane.

"Fools!" the man yelled. "Don't you know who I am? I am the master of rats, the ruler of these parts, I...am the Rat King," he said with a scowl. "And you can't trespass on my territory without paying a tax. So, what do you have to offer me?"

Frost continued backing up, but he suddenly remembered the wall of rats blocking their way. He turned around, and sure enough, the rats were still there. Frost turned around and stared at the Rat King fearfully.

"What's wrong? Leaving so soon without paying homage to the King?" the Rat King laughed.

Frost turned to Blane and whispered, "I hope you have something we can give to this mad man. I have nothing but my spear and cloak." Frost looked worried. He certainly didn't want to become rat food.

"Oh geez!" Blane hissed patting himself down. He didn't have much to call his own. Blane turned to the Rat King and did something even he wasn't expecting himself to do. Blane knelt down in the sludge and lowered his head. "I am sorry your Majesty, I have no money, perhaps you would be willing to trade?" Blane looked up towards the Rat King and then to Frost. "Kneel!" He whispered.

"W-what?! What are you doing?" Frost hissed in a whisper. He let out a groan and followed Blane's lead, kneeling on the sludge. "You better have a plan," Frost whispered.

Blane pulled out several objects from his jacket. "I don't have much, just my gun, smokes and my knife." He looked at Frost for some sort of help.

Frost gritted his teeth. He didn't have much to begin with, and he didn't like the idea of parting with any his belongings. "All I have are my spear, my cloak, and this scarf," Frost said, pointing to his left arm. "The scarf is off limits," Frost sneered.

"Wait! I do have this." Blane produced his most tresured posession, a small sliver locket. He held it out to the Rat King hoping he would take it.

The Rat King gazed at the shiny object Blane held before him. "Hmmm," he pondered. The Rat King stepped closer to examine the locket. Frost couldn't help but stare at this man, covered in rats. "How could he bare to live like this?" Frost thought to himself. He nervously looked at Blane. "I hope he knows what he's doing," Frost frowned.

The Rat King gently took the locket from Blane's hands, turning it over with his fingers. "What is this?" he questioned Blane.

"Its a locket" He answered. "Sliver I think. You can have it, I really have no need for it now." Blane glaced at Frost, he was starting to get cold kneeling in the wash of the sewers.

The Rat King gazed at the locket with wonder. He seemed to like it. "A locket, eh?" his voice lowered a few decibels. "Very well. I accept this offering. I grant you passage through my part of the sewers. Now go, before I change my mind."

Frost quickly stood up from kneeling and started to walk as fast as he could, away from the Rat King. He turned back to make sure Blane was following him.

Blane struggled to his feet, he had been kneeling too long. He ran to catch up with Frost.

As Blane caught up with him, Frost turned around to make sure that the Rat King didn't change his mind. Frost was startled that the self-proclaimed king had disappeared without a trace. Not even one rat could be spotted in the sewers. He sighed. "That was a close call," Frost said, wiping his brow. "If it were not for you, we could have been dead. Thank you," Frost smiled. He felt odd thanking someone. He had often been a lone wolf all his life, and rarely interacted with others. Frost shrugged, and continued to walk towards the Technodrome.

"Don't worry about it!" Blane sighed. He turned and looked back down the tunnel. "Did you get a load of that guy?" He smiled. "And I thought you were weird."

It was nice to have someone to talk to, all his life Blane had thought he had been the only one of his kind. 'Doesn't life deal you weird cards', thought Blane. 'This morning I was the only one.'

Frost smirked at Blane's comment. "Yes, the Rat King was odd," Frost said. "I am just grateful we got out of there in one piece." He shuddered at the thought of all those rats swarming the sewers. Frost continued to keep walking onward. "And you are as strange as they come," he chuckled.

Fishro stiffened, 'That human' he thought, glaring at Casey, 'Did he see me?' It was a possibility. 'Maranda, you sank to a new low, hanging out with... humans...'
Randi glanced to Casey, "Oh, now you're halucinating?" She asked, though she knew what he most likely saw.
~I know you're there, Fishro...~
~Yes, I know you know, Tezlof,~ He replied, ~But do they?~
~Why should I tell you such information?~ Randi replied, ~I should just shoot you...~
~I'd go into th shadows before you could do such a thing.~
~Your plan won't work, Fishro.~ Randi told him as she stared at the table appearing to be deep in thought, ~You'll die, and if it isn't by me... I'm sure that my allies can do the job.~
~IF they know I'm here.~
~IF they Know...~ Randi replied.

Randi looked up at the group again and eyed Oni as if to say, 'any-time-now'. She then sent a telepathic hint to all that were there, even Casey, to the location of the spy. She watched as the slight realizeation grew on their faces. Now they all knew with out knowing.

Fishro scowled, he couldn't read the expression on Randi's face. Was she talking to the others? No, her eyes weren't dialated to their full extent, she could't talk to them... right?

*Casey hurriedly gets up and runs outside and looks around and as he is looking around starts turning in circles as if he just seen a ghost*

Casey: wha...what was that? *places hand on his forehead and bends over from confusement*
