I've been here for quite a while now but this upcoming movie has shown me a side of this board that I hadn't truly seen before.

I think this movie looks and sounds awesome.

Haha.

It's hard to explain. Seeing an hour or two's worth of awesomely designed and animated Ninja Turtles emoting and pulling crazy stunts just sounds pretty entertaining to me.
I know the story won't be oscar worthy but it could possibly capture a few good family moments, have some exciting set pieces, and let us see this franchise brought to life on the screen with a bigger budget than ever before.

There's always room to imagine the perfect Ninja Turtles film, but there's plenty for me to be excited about here. I'm betting it will be at least be a lot better than "TMNT".

So Superbowl will be on February 2nd... not long now. I hope there will indeed be a TMNT 2014 trailer.

This movie has just caused grief and heartache in the entire fandom.

Most TMNT fans were happy with the 4kids series, and what's going on now with Nick and IDW. It's just this movie that leaves a sour spot.

VERY unlikely. All the movie trailers for the Super Bowl were bought and paid for several months ago, and were announced in a press release. Not only did TMNT not make the list, it wasn't even mentioned among other big movies, like "Guardians of the Galaxy", that aren't getting SB trailers but are expected to have trailers debut during the Winter Olympics or online during February/March.

Lots of movie studios decided to save their money this year, as those SB spots get more and more stupidly expensive every year (It's just a football game, what's the big deal?). Last year there were seven movie trailers, only five this year. More studios are realizing they can reach just as many people (and save a ton of money) by releasing the trailer online instead. Or even on "regular" TV, the very next day. It's just math.

Not trying to kill the dream, just stating facts. It's 99% certain TMNT didn't make the cut. The budget didn't allow for it, and besides that, the TMNT audience isn't necessarily the same that would watch the Super Bowl, anyway. I think it's a smart move on their part.

Iiiiiiiii know. They're just all the same to me. I never "got" football. Nothing against those that do, fun is fun after all, and good for everyone who's entertained. I just never understood why, for some people, it's the most important day of the year.

Some people even get to take off work the next day, whereas some people can't even get a half-day off work to take their kid to the doctor without being threatened with unemployment.

I just find that a little silly, is all.

You don't need to get it. There are those who think wrestling is stupid, so just let it be.

You miss the point. It's not about what people think is stupid, it's that the world shouldn't stop for a football game. Or any other, really. And those ads are still overpriced, when starting the very next day they'll be running around the clock on every channel, reaching just as many viewers anyways.

But back to topic, I maintain my argument that the studio is wise not to spend a fortune on a TMNT Super Bowl ad. It's not entirely the same audience. That's partly why Marvel didn't take a risk on "Guardians of the Galaxy"; they figure - rightly so - that they'll still do good business with a less-costly marketing strategy.

Personally, I think people on forums make too big a deal about threads going off topic and need to lighten up a bit.

if people lightened up they would have no one to tell "what they can or cannot do".

make one post that goes a lil off topic and bam! the message board police come. this is every message board though . just brush it off.. yeah i know thats why there is moderators. some people love being right. gotta find a way to be right all the time especially if this is their only avenue to do so..

so back on topic before i get told some bs "like not here buddy move along now..."

the movie costume release was very unorthodox. it could be an honest mistake or intentional to gauge reaction. im sure they will look cool in action though in the movie. i would have thought a big enough phenomenon as the turtles were in the 80s a reboot trailer would be on the biggest stage since most of the people who can afford the merch and movie tix are well in their 30's with children that's a win win. but like what has been posted multiple times only transformers will get the spot.. we will see......

Yeah, just do your own thing. The stupid people are gonna get mad no matter what. Especially if they're called out on their BS. Like theirs people that feel a sense of seniority cause they're been with someone so long and feel the need to ridicule everything because they think they're right and need comformation from everyone in the world about how cool they are. And those people just aren't worth your time. Ignore em.!

that gamespot article makes me feel a lot better. hard to see from the small picture but its worlds better than that halloween costume.

if they are doing a tie-in video game for the movie hopefully they'll release both next gen and current gen consoles. would love to actually play a turtle game on the ps3. if not then it might be the inspiration needed to buy a ps4.
