That Aqua Teen Hunger Force Comparison was better than mine.

Ghost of X-mas Past: You must give of yourself to the big red ape.
Carl: Ok, How much?
Ghost of X-mas Past: Sexually!

Actually I'd choose this order: (REAL Ghostbusters/Old toon TMNT)

Dr. Egon Spengler - Donatello
Dr. Ray Stantz - Leonardo
Dr. Peter Venkman- Raphael
Winston - Michaelangelo (I put in the extra "a" since it's old cartoon Mike)
Janine Melnitz - April O'Neil
And I just don't give a rat's ass about Louis Tully.

Knuckles, are you reading my mind when it comes to the Star Wars counterparts? Both the heroes and villans parts were EXACTLY what I was thinking, almost to the letter! In fact, I'm going to make a thread comparing SW to TMNT

I think you and I might become best buddies on the board (first the sound clip I intended to send in, now that! )

Now for my part:

Star Trek original series:
Leonardo = Captain Kirk
Donatello = Spock
Rapael = Scotty
Michelangelo = Chekov

Star Trek TNG:
Leonardo = Captain Picard
Donatello = Data
Raphael = Commander Riker
Michelangelo = Wesley Crusher

Ghostbusters:
Leonardo = Ray Stanz
Donatello = Egon Spengler
Raphael = Peter Venkman
Michelangelo = Winston Zeddmore

EDIT: Sorry Anarchistguy, I didn't see that post

Egon is the brainy smart guy(Donatello), but he is also the smart leader - more like Leonardo.

Ray doesn't seem Leonardish at all - to me, anyway. He's another crazy brainiac but silly guy - more like Don. Anyway, that's what I think.

Mike as Winston???
Mike = wisecracker = Peter.
Winston = "dont mess with me" = Raph.

X-Files:
Raph is definitely Krycek
Donatello is the male version of Scully
Leo is AD Skinner
Mikey is Mulder (for the humor, not the angstiness)

OR

Cowboy Bebop:
Raph: Faye (yes, Faye. I said Spike first, but then I thought about it.)
post-apocalyptic Leo: Spike (but less trigger-happy)
Don in 20 years: Jet
Mike with a head injury: Ed (hee hee hee...)

What about those three guys? The computer geek ones? The Lone Gunmen, or rangers or what ever?

And Shellfox, you watch the worst cartoons, lol. Street SHarks, though I have some of the toys, was horribly animated. Beast Wars was way better than Beast Machines.

And how is Casey Scavenger?!

I wouldn't draw any counterparts because they dont have any counterparts (the Mirage ones at least). The TMNT are completely unique and not stereotypical archetypes as found in the (old) cartoon.

I mean, c'mon... Mike to Bubbles?? When was the last time Bubbles played a guitar or wrote a poem?? Mike to Peter from GB?? I didn't know Petey could cook. Mike to Tails?? Can Tails take down a platoon of street thugs with his bare hands?? Mike to.. MEATWAD?! Can Meatwad move in and out of places without being seen or heard???

I rest my case.

Tails actually could handle street Thugs.
And Meatwad could disguise Himself as an Igloo.

BTW You have got to be the biggest Mike fan on this forum. You know that?

Nothing wrong with that at all.

It's just kinda weird that the least lighthearted forum member prefers the most lighthearted turtle.

Actually, while I started this with ALL TMNT incarnations in mind, (meaning, if necessary, you can mix & match versions) the Mirage turtles are total archetypal figures. The idea of TMNT is unique, but their personalities, generally speaking, are not. Leonardo, be it official or unofficial, is the leader figure--Mirage or otherwise. Raphael is the hotheaded toughguy with an attitude--in the old cartoon, he was all attitude, but that's beside the point. Donatello is the brainy one--scientific, intelligent, good with mechanical and electronic things. Michelangelo is the lighthearted, fun-loving, funny, joker character--also artistic. Those are pretty clear archetypes if you ask me. Now, I love the turtles as much as anybody here, and don't mean to impugn their uniqueness, but it's plain as day no matter which version you go by. Besides, these aren't meant to be exact matches, (i.e., Bubbles doesn't need to play a guitar--she played drums, actually--to be like Mikey--she's the most lighthearted, sensitive, and childlike of the PPG, Mikey is the most lighthearted, sensitive, and childlike of the TMNT. If you want to go the artistic route--Mikey writes poems, Bubbles draws pictures) you merely have to find the closest match in any given team/group. It works pretty well most of the time.

Actually Knuckles, I consider the original cartoon Raph to be kind of different from the other Raphs. Well, of course they're both all personality, but the original cartoon Raph didn't seem as "agressive" as the others.
