Surprising Cool Stuff That Happened

Here are a few, although they might seem simple, but these are my moments like that:

1. The return of Toonami. I never thought it would return to TV, but it is back.

2. TMNT 6" super articulated action figures. These exist in the form of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Classic Collection. I always wanted a Marvel Legends style line of turtles action figures, and now it is here.

3. Star Wars Episode VII. With Disney purchasing Star Wars, we finally will have a 7th Star Wars movie this year.

- Having heaps of LEGO toys as a kid. In my country at least, LEGO has been one of the more expensive toys to buy and my parents definitely wouldn't be able to afford them. Then one day my dad got lucky and grabbed boxes and boxes of LEGO sets at a shop-closure clearance sale, for a fraction of the original prices, can you imagine the joy we had?

- Visiting Disneyland LA when I was 11 years old. This might not be a big deal to most people (especially in the US) but for an average south-east-Asian kid in the mid-90's who was not from a rich family and barely had any hope of travelling halfway across the world just for a vacation, it was absolutely a dream-come-true for me!

- Installing my first 3D graphics card (a 3dfx Voodoo Rush) when I was 15. The eye candieeeeeees!

- Getting my final-year electronics project to work while I was in college. It's the kind of joy you'd expect to see on Donatello's face!

- Getting a job as an engineer at (shall I say it? It's a big name making microprocessors and stuff)

- Prices of huge HDTVs falling to reasonable levels in such a short period, and being able to afford one myself. Back when most HDTVs were plasmas and priced like a car, I thought I'd be getting a car first before thinking about upgrading from my good-ol' CRT!

- Owning my first car! Granted I've been driving my parents' car before that, but being able to choose your own ride and sit in it for the first time was another dream-come-true for me! The model I bought also happened to be something impossible previously, as the first 5 generations of Ford Fiesta was Europe-exclusive only. The 6th generation was the first time it was sold worldwide, which was why I could own one.

- Lastly, Nick TMNT! It's definitely the coolest thing that has ever happened to TMNT! I don't think many people expected it to be this good!
