Krang is incarcerated. I have a feeling that Shredder's fate will appear to be more final. How long will Krang be held in a Neutrino cell?

I discovered this comic a year ago and have found the story to be compelling from the very beginning. This issue was great and shows that real consequences exist in this TMNT world. Donatello has never been my favorite turtle; except in this canon (and the Nick toon), I think he is. I would be quite surprised if he is truly dead and no longer appears in the book. I think he will survive in some fashion. What a heartbreaking issue though! I don't know how a turtle bounces back from a broken shell. I don't think Bebop and Rocksteady have ever been such a serious threat before as they are in this book.
I do find it a bit sensational that many websites are portraying Donnie as dead, though, as I don't see that as being confirmed in this issue. However, if it brings renewed interest in this book (I know sales have been continuing to go down), then I don't mind a bit of sensationalism. I just need more of this comic!! |

You can preorder a copy of the 2nd print due out in a few weeks for cover price. I'll end up grabbing one of those also with its unique cover.

Just read it, and... woof. That was brutal. Though very well-done. The fact that those hugely painful Donnie scenes so overshadowed the huge-scale conflict playing out in the rest of the issue says a lot about how hard the emotions hit in this series. They know how to upset us in the best possible way.
Gonna be a lot harder than usual to wait a month for the next issue!

I think it's far more likely that he is dead (and after some action he will be brought back) as opposed to him being alive somehow. Angel said they tried to help him but couldn't. They're all standing around while his blood is pooling around him. Don't you think if there was even a remote chance of him being barely alive that they would be scrambling to help him? When Casey was hurt they got him out and to a hospital immediately.
I just find it hard to believe that no one would have picked up even slight signs of life if they were there. Or at least would be trying to help him if there was a chance he could be alive right now. |

I just saw several eBay auctions while looking to reserve a copy of the TriCon cover (managed to do that already for substantially less than eBay). There's many copies with a buy it now price of $4 plus shipping (so around $8 total if you're in the US). You might be able to do better by a dollar or so online, but that's just what I've noticed so far. I'm just going to reserve one at my LCS, but if you don't have any copies yet and want one guaranteed, I'd reserve one now in case they sell out.

But they aren't even trying to stop his bleeding. The implication is that they attempted treatment, but he was already dead. Even if the damage to his shell/spine and all of his internal organs didn't kill him, I can't imagine you can have a profusely-bleeding gaping back wound for very long before bleeding out. How long do you think he was on the floor for?

It was a pretty strong scene when they hit Donny with the sledgehammer. We will see if Donny pulls through.

Not that I'm a sadist or anything, but seeing how brutal Donnie's fate was renews my hope that we see Shredder get his head chopped off by Leo ala RTNY. The TMNT's revenge is justified. Anything goes now, and that is a good thing. This is where violence can be used in an artistic sense.

As for Krang, there is so much cool stuff they could do. I see the Neutrinos having a Dimension X trial for Krang like the Utrom high council did for Che'rell in 4Kids. |

Dude...this series is quickly moving to be the best tmnt story ever. I'm a HUGE Mirage fan and to me Mirage volume one had a ton of great stories, but damn has IDW been clawing their way to the top. While it still hasn’t beat C@W, in my eyes it has topped v4, v3, v2, most of v1, all but the first movie, and all the tv series. Tom and crew are crushing it. maybe one day when all the dust settles, I'll look back and say, "the IDW TMNT series was the best comic series I've ever read." This is a creative team that I have the utmost faith in to handle my most beloved comic characters. I've purchased every single issue (minus GB and the X files crossovers). I will most likely purchase all the hard cover collections for the regular IDW series as well. They are definitely making TMNT history and I'll be there every step of the way Oh, and I really like the fact that they aren’t renumbering! Yay! |
