I ended up getting a box at a local comic shop to reserve the rest of the ongoing series. It's been great reading them but I highly doubt Donnie is truly dead. Do a little CPR and some trauma surgery and he will be back after a stay in the Turtle ICU.

I'm surprised at the hate out there when you suggest that Don's not dead... Maybe surprised isn't the right word but for lack of a better one at the moment...

I just go it my #44 copy yesterday, 2nd printing ( the one show Donnie's hand) not my favorite cover, because Donnie is my favorite, but at least I have a copy. Will be valuable? I don't think so, unless it's signed by Kevin Eastman.

I never go to a comic- con and I hope one day I can go to at least one of them.

The boy is alive, but in a coma state. Even the comic shop owner told me that.

The comic shop owner has no way of knowing that. He's just a dude selling books. That's like the employee at Barnes & Noble telling you that Jon Snow isn't really dead.

My Dad works at Nintendo and he said Donnie is still alive but in witness protection.

But seriously I have always seen the ending of Attack on Technodrome as a very tragic closing out. It didn't feel cliffhanger-y if you know what I mean. I know alot of new readers are being pulled into the is he/isn't he dead, but I think the real thing to take away from this arc, (the last year of TMNT even,) Is how Donnie fought so hard to get people to take the Technodrome seriously and he accomplished that even though he paid for it ultimately.

Nobody's arguing that we think Donny is dead. I'm saying that a guy running a comic store has only his own opinion and prior experience to offer, not insider knowledge.

The only facts we have to go on are what happens at the end of 44:
1) Angel and Alopex both say they tried everything they could but it was "too late".
2) No one is trying to help the very smashed and bled out turtle, which leads the belief that there is nothing that can be done.

Yes, Donnie is alive in a hospital bed in the FCBD spoiler. No where does it say he is in a coma. Everyone assumes he is. However, he appears to be pretty damn dead at the end of 44. It seems more likely that he died and is somehow revived.

Regardless, anything other than that is speculation.

I don't know who the heck Jon Snow is. The comic guy has his opinion and I agree with him. But let's see what happens in the next issue. My copy only cost me $3.99 . I hope the best for Donnie. To be honest, I refused to think that he is dead and even was not wanting to buy the comic with the cover that show Donnie's hand, but in the end I bought. I've never felt so shocked about a comic character and Donnie is my favorite but I love his siblings, too.

Jon Snow is from Game of Thrones, a popular HBO show and book series. Now saying Boba Fett is dead, to a Star Wars fan, is really crazy.

My favorite is Michelangelo. I even have his 1980's surfer voice down.

Also I just picked up my pull list for my comics and I had an Eastman cover 44.

"Most Sites" are not IDW. The issue is titled Attack on Technodrome Part 4. DEATH OF DONATELLO sort of got around through eBay and is the short hand that the casual TMNT fans and lookie-loos have been using. IDW has not once marketed this issue as a "death of" issue. The closest that it's been was the solicit saying "A character will make the ultimate sacrifice" which in comic talk means about as much as "things will never be the same" in the way of building hype.

The issue released pretty quietly but once the people that have been out of the loop on this series got wind of the events within the press and speculators market swooped in and did its thing.

3rd law, but this was too amusing to not post. XD

There's a difference between getting hit and getting crushed. Rocksteady wacks people with the hammer all the time, but never against a hard surface.
Still, I'm sure it hurt. >.o
