You forgot Nick/2012 series. The turtles design looks similar to them, plus their Metalhead is almost carbon copy (or is it 1:1? I don't compare thoroughly).

Only because of the FCBD preview spoilers. If that hadn't happened, NOT ONE OF US would've predicted Donatello's fate at the hands of Bebop & Rocksteady.

Or that he was going to come back to life as a cyborg, because...I totally called that. Mostly because I've read the Image books.

That they'd kill him. Or "mostly" kill him. And yes, I've read Image, too... but Donny's cyborg transformation is much more drastic than Raph's eternal eyepatch or donning the Shredder armor. Kudos to IDW!

Funny thing, I expected Angel & Alopex for Donnie as a backup, and I expected Splinter dying at the siege of the foot hq. As it turns out, it was the opposite, Angels team helping Splinter, and Donnie dying.

Looks like Alopex and Nobody are reinforcing Casey at the Second Time Around; that's my theory, anyway.

DAMN it's nice to see Alopex looking ferocious again. That cute cuddly look was really REALLY annoying me.

Man, its amazing how Alopex can go from looking cute and cuddly in some art to a ferocious beast who will tear your limbs off in another. Alopex has the most drastically changing expressions of any character in the book.

Here's my summary and review of TMNT #45 at TMNT Entity.

I love how snugly all the pieces come together in the IDW universe. It's all so methodically planned out. Like Fugitoid using the menta-wave technology to put Donnie in Metalhead. I dunno. It all comes together very nicely.

And good to see Casey getting some of his edge back. Hope he can keep up the momentum.

Raphael's nonchalant dialogue in that rooftop panel spoiler posted earlier really pisses me off. Why do the Turtles continue to use names such as "Shredhead," even after the latter orders the death of Donatello?

Here's my full summary and review of the TMNT Free Comic Book Day 2015 special at TMNT Entity.

It was a nice mix of old and new material, if a bit inessential to the ongoing plot. Always great to see new art from Mateus, of course.

A bit perplexed on the continuity, though. Does it take place between #45 and #46, or #46 and #47? Hun seems to be bouncing around a lot.

I was a bit surprised if it took place between 45 and 46, too. The Turtles' reaction to Don's new body and seeing him up and about was pretty understated. Even Image had them give Cyborg Donnie a hug!

Anyway, both issues were great although Prelude to Vengeance was half clip show. Very nice to see Casey kicking a bit of ass and looking pretty cool. And very nice to see Mikey's buck tooth is greatly reduced.
