It depends on what you define as a official stuff. There are lots of B movies being touted as A level material, these days - I'm specifically thinking of Hunger games, or Divergent, or movies of that nature. Bat in the Sun is still incredibly campy - if comic accurate.

Batman V Darth Vader was fun, I admit, but in general, they're shorts are heavy on the schmaltz.

Not an excuse anymore. Maybe 10 years ago, when professional gear was still guarded by the gatekeepers. For a few hundred bucks you can rent a DSLR and shoot over a weekend - 10 years ago a decent camera rental would cost upwards of a few thousand. The tools are affordable enough.
It's knowledge, not money that's the issue. You might have an encyclopedic understanding of the events of the entire Mirage catalogue, but if you don't know how to frame a shot, direct/actors, or light a shot, that won't save you. If you can't tell a good story cheaply, a cash injection won't solve your issues.
To the point we made earlier, we love to cheer/jeer, and live vicariously. That's humanity - we love to watch, hence we have stadiums and billion dollar sports teams. But being an expert fan doesn't make you an expert player.

But again, Bay turtles were designed by fans, and in many ways, that 's the problem. Being a professional artist isn't about being a fan, so much as it's about communicating ideas well. It's a skill that takes time to develop. Mastering it is why some folks get paid lot's of money, and why a "fan" isn't "a professional", but you can become a professional, and still be a fan. My beef continues to be with the "professionals" of Bayturtles. They're posers. It's apparent, no matter how you slice it.

You'll never get a consensus on what the TMNT should look look like. We know what we like and what we don't, it's truly a collection of fiefdoms begrudgingly joined under one usurper (Bay/Viacom). It's all highly personal, much in the same way ice cream is personal; and while some of us are lactose intolerant, others will regale you with their love of a specific Ben&Gerry's offering. Some can talk for hours about the best gelato they've ever had. We all know gelato isn't technically ice cream, sure but it's kind of the same, right? And sure, that's fine, go on, you enjoy that ice cream you murderer! You must know just how horrific the dairy industry is, how inhumane milk collection has become. What about the environmental cost? The methane produced is staggering! Don't even get me started on the health costs, the rise in type two diabetes, and the dwindling supply of antibiotics!

^^See, this is what happens when you give a fan enough rope...we go old man Simpson right quick.

I was looking at the cast and crew page on IMDB and I notice that there are stunt doubles for Will Arnett and Tyler Perry, so they could be involved in the final fight scene or Baxter gets mutated.

im all for secondary characters being involved in action sequences, but fight scenes...no thank you. I hope they leave that to the Turtles.

at one point, during the filming of the first movie, April was supposed to hold her own against Shredder, and they thankfully cut that part out. If Raph could barely keep it together, somebody like April has no business even trying.

As for Baxter becoming the fly...yes, please.

Megan Fox has a fight double so she be hitting someone. No stunt double though but that probably gets added later.

Thumbs down

Pretty much what I was saying all the way through the trailer:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwc3_KKRCcQ

Sorry, guys. Life-long TMNT lover, but I can't stand this. So deeply sickened by what Platinum Dunes did with this franchise and the cheap look of this. It could have been handled SO much better by another studio.

So is it weird that I was kind of hoping for Rocksteady's facial hair to remain in his mutant form?

The first BayTurtles 1 trailer didn't have Knoxville's voice either, though, right? He'll probably record his dialogue in a day sometime a month before release.

I think DC are going to help promote this movie because they only have 2 movies out next year and Marvel/Fox have 4 So I think that DC want there 2 movies to beat Marvel's/Fox movies.

DC are already helping promote the movie with Stephen Amell cast as Casey Jones so I bet there going to be lots of TV spots clips with Arrow and also The Batman TMNT crossover comic which will finish in May/June. I bet TMNT 2 2nd trailer will come out in front of Batman vs Superman and I bet a new Suicide Squad Trailer will come out in front of TMNT 2

I expect DC want Suicide Squad to gross more than X-Men, Deadpool and Dr Strange and I expect X-Men will be a more of a threat to them so they want TMNT 2 to beat X-Men. None of the X-Men movies have never gone over $250M in the US and I doubt the new X-Men movie is going to make more than The Last Stand.

TMNT 2 has a potential of making more money than last year because new people will go see this movie. DC and Arrow fans because Stephen Amell is in it and obviously people reading the comic crossover will go see it. Also WWE fans will go see this movie because of Sheamus is in it and obviously WWE will help promote this movie too.

I don't know how popular Dr Strange comics are but I assume the movie will make a similar gross to Antman and if the 1st TMNT movie came out this year, it would of beaten Antman so I think TMNT 2 will beat Dr Strange. Anyway who's more popular in comics Antman or Dr Strange.

Obviously Deadpool won't be a threat because it will be a R Rated movie.

I didn't mention Gambit because it looks like it's going to be pushed back to 2017

So I think DC plan is this

1. Batman vs Superman
2. Captain America Civil War
3. Suicide Squad or TMNT 2
4. Suicide Squad or TMNT 2
5. X-Men
6. Deadpool
7. Dr Strange

I don't think it will matters to them if TMNT 2 beats Suicide Squad because it's the Marvel/Fox movies that are a threat 2 DC.

So that's my thoughts.

I'm sorry, but that is absolutely ridiculous. One tiny crossover does not mean the franchises of TMNT and Batman are now bosom buddies or that the captains of their respective financial ships give a sh!t about the other property.

I just find it's a coincidence that the crossover story is happening with both movies out next year and Stephen Amell being in TMNT 2.

I'm not saying DC/WB (I think) and IDW/Paramount/Nick are becoming buddies just that DC would like a bit of help with beating the Marvel/Fox movies.

It is entirely a coincidence.

Amell is a guy trying to move up from TV acting into movie acting; he's already known as a guy who does comic book characters (specifically vigilantes) and TMNT 2 is a very small-scale CBM. It's not surprising they chose him.

Saying DC/WB and Paramount/PD are actively working together to promote this movie is like saying the McDonald's in your city is working together to promote the mom-and-pop family-owned diner. It's not happening.

Ultimately they're still competitors. The comic crossover is a one-off project that's mutually beneficial for both parties. And honestly, the comic divisions of major studios generally fly under the radar unless they're in serious financial trouble. I sincerely doubt there's any connection between a Batman/TMNT comic miniseries and much larger corporate policy.

Just because two comic companies are crossing over for a few months doesn't mean the companies themselves are working together beyond that. Remember that this happened too, once upon a time:

Thank you, Bry. That one image presents a far more conclusive case than my text. <high-five>
