I see no reason why first movie figures will cease production and distribution.
Consider hasbro: they continue to release figures from the previous movies under the latest banner. Example: Han and Leia twin set, the figures are from the 77 movie, nearly 40 years ago.

If your talking the Han and Leia in the current twin set released in 2015, those are not old figures. In fact both were released in two separate two packs within the last 2-3 years. The costumes and articulation given are based on their '77 toys, but the figures are new.

Now they did re-release action figures like Anakin Skywalker from a 2005 multi-pack several times over the course of 5 years. As of now though most of the Star Wars figures that had great articulation has been almost extinguished. Hasbro is mostly pushing their 5 point articulated figures now.

Playmates probably will re-release the first movie figures because they can, but I doubt they would go to the trouble of making brand new ones for the 2014 movie.

My point was that the companies will continue to release relevant figures.
Hasbro do NOT issue their figures as they were in the 70s. The 70s Star Wars figures found themselves in Empire and then Jedi, and Tri Logo packaging. So figures from previous ranges do keep going for a while.
As a rule - toys are given a 2-5 year life span. Expect to see the 2014 movie figures in some form of generic packaging all the way through the three MB movies time framing.

Makes sense. Sounds like we were on the same page. It's nice to be able to talk about action figures with others who understands action figures in general.

Given they're in California, the state first to get new stuff, I'd say they're juuuust starting to hit. If only in CA, so far.

Wow see Playmates could post this on their Social Media . Like what NECA does showing off upcoming figures. . Finally a new April. Looks like Casey doesn't come with any weapons which would be weird.
