I just wish Leo's plastron weren't so Crayola yellow. But yeah, they look pretty good otherwise.

I'd like to get the box set, but I dunno if I will, ultimately. Maybe on clearance? There's just so much coming out in the collector's market...

Haha, Donnie has a stick for a weapon. So of course he got the shaft.

I'm sorry, I found that punny.

Anywho, I'm looking forward to the single releases. I've already hit Bebop and Rocksteady with their repaints, gotta to do the bikes next, cannot wait to get these guys with a fresh paint job.

I did a quick silver sharpie on Mikey's chucks, and it's nice to have weapon holders, even if Donnie got the shaft.
Good to hear. If you're able to get clear close shots, Etsy, go for it.

These are the close ups...
Leo

Mikey

Raph

And Don. I was going to miss him out, to be Playmates consistent .. Haha.

I really like these figures! They don't look like they are melting or something this time. I ended up buying a Leo today after work. I want to find the Leo and Raph bike sets!

I look forward to seeing the many custom paint jobs fans will give these. They're pretty solid sculpts in their own right. I remember the last set seemed rather awful to me until I saw repaints that brought out details that went unnoticed & were actually quite accurate to the film, just obscured by the lacking paint or color choices. I imagine the same will be the case here, but to an even greater extent.

Nice shots DVD!

I can remember the first movie ones, but these feel kinda somewhere in between normal plastic and the soft plastic that the Movie Star Turtles had. It's not the same, but it definitely has a softer feel, and the texture looks really good. I guess more pliable than the normal figures.

I did pick up Bebop, Rocksteady and the Shredder today. I'm actually done with the line now. Kraang is awful in this scale, the Foot Soldier still has a derp face, and Splinter is just a re-mold from the last movie, which I thought was a bad figure too. Haven't seen Casey, so the jury is still out on him.

But seriously, you guys won't be disappointed with Rocksteady or Bebop, they have the same joints as the Turtles... wrist, hips, knees... all the same, but one. The hip joint is turned 90 degrees from the Turtles... so their legs will pivot outward more and they can have a wider stance than the TMNT. I'd venture to say that Rock and Bebop are the best of the line... and I'm someone that doesn't really buy villain figures... but I don't regret this purchase at all! I did some simple silver touch ups on both. The spikes on Bebop and the chains and hammer head with Rocksteady.

Shredder on the other hand. Definitely the weakest. He doesn't have ball joints in his elbows like the others so you lose some poses... and his legs are worse. Since he has the same type as the Turtles, you can't get the wide stance that he would really benefit from, so you get this odd bow-leg look. I did put silver on his kneepads.

Bebop and Rocksteady are definitely on the upper end of Playmates quality figures, which isn't saying much, but I do dig the figures. I've repainted both, but only have the figures that came with their bikes, because that's all I've seen thus far. I'll eventually pick up the individual release of Bebop, though probably not Rocksteady immediately.

No, it's not saying much... but it's nice to see that they didn't get short handed.

I personally love your customs, so I can't wait to see how they turned out!

Sounds like Bebop and Rocksteady are top purchases in this line. Can anyone recommend the best version of them? Stand-alone packs? Vehicle packs? Dual-figure battle packs?

The Stand Alones are my favorite figures in a long time. The biker variants are neat, but I am not sure if: actually I doubt we will see them in the movie.
Like the TMNT movie line had Stunt Rider cycles for each Turtle, but of course only Raph had one (and made for the best variant figure in that line).

The trailer shows them on their bikes, I mean it'll likely get cut, but they do show Bebop and Rocksteady on the bikes

Found a display at my local Wal-Mart yesterday with the entire basic line as well as the bikes. Bought Kraang and Casey. Disappointed that Casey's mask does not come off, but maybe I can work around that. Kraang is actually pretty cool though. I will get the rest later, but the three costumed turtles weren't there so they might be out later. I like the Foot soldier but I'm not too thrilled with Shredder.

So, the Casey mask isn't removable? That's unfortunate because that's the only aspect of that figure I cared for.

That sucks. It kinda looked like in pictures of Casey that the mask was removable, is it glued on or a part of the sculpt?

Yeah Casey is very underwhelming. Also I noticed all the ones at my Walmart, his mask is t even white; It's more peach/cream.

The straps are part of his head, but the mask looks like a piece that is glued or snapped on I can't tell which. But I'm wondering if he even has a face under it. All u can see are his eyes and part of the chin. Hockey stick was kind of flimsy too. Skates were kind of cool though and he stands okay on them. Looks like he made them himself so that might be something interesting in the movie where he makes his own gear.

If the mask is merely glued on, then I'll gladly be popping it off. I'm not too concerned about the straps. And honestly I don't really care much for the figure, so I'll take a gander when I see one.

I can't imagine Playmates doing the extra work to sculpt a Casey Jones face and then gluing a piece of plastic over it. Unless, of course... it's a face like this!
