I never doubted that Shredder wouldn't fight the turtles before the cat was let out of the bag. How much screen time does Shredder have this time?

Casey fights more in this than in the '90 movie. Mostly foot soldiers and Bebop and Rocksteady

Shredder is the main villain. He has more screen time here than the last film.

Is he as likable or charismatic as the 90s one? Or portrayed in any way other than "Stephen Amell in oversized hockey mask"?

Is he at all interesting or compelling as a villain to justify more screentime?

Oh, wait, I can answer that one myself.

No.

Because according to you nothing at all that makes Shredder interesting as a character or a villain is in this movie. No backstory, no Hamato Yoshi, nothing.

Not even his actual friggin' name.

That being said, I'm still sitting here dumbfounded over how impressed I was with this movie. I'm still processing it so I'll do a full review tonight. Right now just a few things...

This is NOT an April and Casey movie featuring the turtles. In fact, they have very few scenes where there isn't a turtle or a villain present. The turtles are the stars. When they aren't on the screen, it's usually the villains who spend a lot of time together so it never felt like an overstock of characters.

Pete Ploznek is Leonardo. There's no Johnny Knoxville. Also Leo carrys a bulk of the serious scenes in the movie. Pete is excellent

The turtles are more developed, and since you spend so much more time with them, they actually get to shine in their signature traits rather than last time where things like raph being angry or Donnie being smart felt shoehorned in.

There's no Eric Sacks and not even a mention of his character.

There are some stupid jokes here and there like raph hitting the plane, turtle winking, etc. but they are pretty few and far between and they made all the little kids laugh. For the most part, the movie carrys itself as a pretty serious action/ sci fi film.

The turtles aren't running around in the open like some of the trailers made it seem.

Krang is awesome. Much more serious than the 80s show but still the same character. Tyler perry is also not as cartoony as he was in the trailer. Shredder is a badass.

The movie isn't as predictable as you might think even with all of the trailers and tv spots. There's lots of surprises. Most of the callbacks to previous turtles projects feel more natural this time. The movie is shot better. There are a few shots that actually reminded me of panels from the early comics. the music is fantastic! Not only is the score better but there's also a full soundtrack of great songs.

Basically, it felt like a ninja turtles movie. I loved the ending too
I thought this film looked like it was shot way better after seeing the trailers. Its not even close. It looked awesome when Donnie swung underneath the plane lol. And I'm not surprised that its way better than the first. This film is gonna explode. Its gonna make waaayyy more loot than the first I bet. Bravooo Mr. Green! Bravo sir.

Now...

Lets enjoy this for a moment

Dave Green is a much better director than Jonathan Leibesman. Whether you love this movie or hate it with a passion, there is some good directing going on here. There's one shot of Leo talking to Splinter, which looks like a comic book panel. Regardless of how I felt about that scene, I was like "Whoa, that's a nice shot". Also the turtles aren't filmed from those low angles that make them look super huge. No weird multi colored lighting in the background. Cinematically, it's a better looking movie.

This I would watch. No cuts, no fancy camera moves.

One wide shot, Fox, popping and twisting like rubber Johnny, into a GD turducken.

Yep.

Neither April or any of the other human characters have anything to do with taking out Shredder or Krang

I guess Seth's asleep now so my questions will have to wait.

1. Would you say this movie is better than the 3 original movies and 2007 movie

2. Would you say this movie is better than any of the movies you seen this year like Batman vs Superman ect

3. Would you see this movie in the cinema again.

4. is there any blood and swearing in the movie.

I believe in the Jeremy Howard interview, he said it takes place two years after the first one.

I got a question.. regarding my name. Did they change Krangs look from the big game tv spot? cause in every new tv spot and trailer the head of the android looks different now, is that just battle damage or did they completely change the design?
