Really liking how from somewhere on Page 2 up to now, a majority of the discussion has been focused on Mew. It really is quite... something.

And the fact that he's apparently made 80+ ~~many of which I bet were ridiculous~~ posts within his time back? Good freaking gravy.

Well, there's probably no point in saying this now, but I'm sure the Mods have their reasons for whatever it is they're not doing. I'm guessing currently it's just them staring at their screens for a bit, wondering if they should even bother. Eventually they might realize they already had a rough enough day, and figure that what they chose to do may not be enough to satisfy our needs. Only until the largest problem has been made clear over the majority of the forums, will something possibly be done. Until then, everything else is petty nonsense.

Of course, I don't exactly know ^that^, so I may be wrong.

I mean, I spend a lot of my time on my ass staring at the computer too, but I'm using it for things other than screwing around online.

I personally think forums are a lot more enjoyable when the mods are not micro managing the community. Sometimes it's fun when threads get a bit off topic and jokes are made. (not thread locked cubed

) I wasn't here before but I enjoy this forum the way it is now except for the cliquey crap where people won't talk to you for awhile when you join.

The thing is with trolls is the more you respond to them the more they will troll. If you ignore them they will get bored and stop or move on to anther forum. Just some food for thought.

The "silent treatment" you get when you first join is pretty rough. Luckily I was sick with the flu for the first week I joined. That led to a 400+ post count in under 7 days.

Is that really even a thing, though? Let's be honest, most new people don't exactly take the initiative. If you make a collection thread, give your thoughts on a new episode, etc, people will engage you. Just give 'em something to work with.

'Course, nowadays, most new members who go the distance are just Goku in disguise, trying to prove he can make decent contributions.

I joined in early 2009. At the time, Cyber stuck to the TMNT sections iirc. And people only criticised him for constantly reminding everyone that a couple of FW episodes were yet to be released on DVD. And also criticised him for making threads where he answered his own questions. But no one accused him of trolling or hated his guts. He stood out but just as a stubborn guy. It was not until the Michael Bay films coming along that he began posting about real life issues and such.

Cyber was once a full blown heel, the biggest one on these boards, but his heel work was getting so amusing that now he's basically a face.

Or just make an introduction thread. Those always get replies. And I recall making a few threads back when I joined and they got replies.
