Rat King minions

Hey, just another thought I had, for any given version of TMNT....

I've heard many people say the Rat King isn't very threatening as an opponent, being able t only control rats. Well, I had a thought... what if in any given version of TMNT (be it Nick, IDW, or another upcoming version) if Rat King had the mutants Dirtbag, Perri Grey, and maybe even the dream beavers, as minions, given his powers and all. You could even stretch his powers to include wingnut, even though he's a Chiroptera, and not a rodent. Just another idea I had.

IDW is the best version of TMNT

If they make a TMNT reboot movie retelling the shredder battle/origin, I won't buy a ticket.

Didn't you recently do a thread like this already? I remember you proposing Rat King as having control over various kinds of animal life.

Easy pass.

I don't know, him controlling other forms of rodents doesn't seen too far fetched.

Yeah, the other thread was him being an animal rights activist, that one was goofy, I'll admit.

I'm working on a fan comic that kind of touches on this thought, http://tmntfuturedespair.smackjeeves...1/chapter-one/

Ohhh, neat! I always thought this was a natural extension of his rat-controlling powers! And it'd make him more of a threat than just controlling splinter!

I thought he was threatening as he is. He had an entire army of rats and he even could mind control Splinter temporarily.

Combat and weapons wise, he is no slouch either. The Rat King is armed with smoke bombs and his grappling hook which have worked effectively. He was able to easily capture leatherhead and once, outsmarted all 4 turtles in combat and defeated them in the episode "were rats from channel six"

He had his moments, but he also made a zombie potion that didn't work, had the whole city at his mercy when he teamed up with pinky mcfingers and didn't take advantage of it, and sent his two mutant super rats to steal food. instead of weapons or valuables. In his OT incarnation. ol' lord H'ntaan was competent at times, but other times he could be a real nitwit.

Same with Shredder and Krang. Sometimes Shredder was skilled enough to take on all 4 turtles at once and showed his Ninja skills time and time again, but there were other times where he was very incompetent and easily defeated.

Overall though, I really like OT rat king and he's my favourite version of the character. We even had a really edgy and interesting take on him in one episode of the Red Sky seasons, I wish there could've been more done with him but I'm really happy with how hewas overall.

Shredder could've done more than blow up the Channel Six building. I don't mean as far as murdering Splinter, but think of the possibilities if censors were not an issue.

Shredder and Krang combined had the biggest arsenal of any villains in all of the cartoons.

I guess maybe if he had mutant rats, not just the giant mounts in Nick. But rat swarms are mad scary, I don't really see a reason to expand his mind control powers.

Maybe controlling the Squirrelanoids in the Nick show would be a interesting and creepy challenge for the Turtles.

Yeah, that's the kind of thing I'm talking about. Imagine if he had control of the dream beavers.

I like to keep things simple, just keep him controlling rats. He doesn't need to control everything that might, sort of, almost, kinda be a rat if you look at it cross eyed.
