Sorry, mistake on my part, but I did read that Cipes suggested Mikey use it for that show and I hadn't heard it in the non comic incarnations.

The Nick show came out in 2012, of course it was used there first. Sometimes they put things from the shows in comics afterward as easter eggs. The annual came out in 2014, 2 years after the Nick show debuted, why bring that up?

Yeah during the game she said Baxter for Cena voice. I assumed it was a mistake because both names start with “B” and it was a rushed game.

I interpreted the previous comment as the phrase was only used in the show. So I mentioned that I thought I read it in a comic as well. That’s why I brought it up.

Outside Mike, none of these designs work for me. The only thing I dislike about his design is his facial expression but not too bad overall.

*Raph looks to be a mix between Slash and the PD version.
*Don's design looks too boxy, especially with the head shape. It just looks so uninspired compared to previous versions of the turtle.
*If Leo wasn't too slim, I'd be content with his.
*April's design doesn't look that interesting.
*Splinter just looks bad all around.

Even with Rob on board, I'm just not optimistic about this series. But I'll wait to see how these designs work in motion.

It was so cringe to see that girl in the livestream fail miserably at Turtle Trivia. Seriously, how can you not know the FW theme song?!

The show itself is likely going to look heavily stylized, you can tell the way the designs look and I think it'll all look natural once we see some clips from episodes.

she seems to be a video producer mostly, for the internet. but other than that, yeah, no one we've really heard of before. they could have pitted andre with someone much more challenging and had a real game going..but they went with someone in house.


Yeah, I liked andre more before he became 'official'. and i'm still not sure how that happened. he seemed more genuine to me. now he's just another corporate seller.

Overall, those designs could have been worse.

The only things that really jarring to me are Raph-Hulk and Don's square-head. As well, as change of weapons. And Splinter. He is just downright ugly.

But otherwise, I have expected much bigger departure. Something like Teen Titans Go or something even more radical.
This version of Turtles looks somehow close to TNM (which is a strange source of inspiration, to say the least) mixed with PD. Also, as I said before, reminds me of Back to the Sewers.
It's tolerable.

I hope quip about dimensions means something more than just crossovers with FW and 2K12 Turtles.

I would like to hear Andre's REAL thoughts on the designs. To be honest, he didnt seem that impressed, and his reactions seemed forced. No poker face I guess.

As for the Machelle - I felt like they could've smeared pie on a canvas, and she would have sang its praises.

Baxter Stockman is NOT confirmed in Rise, the "Superfan" is just a casual, she didn't know the most basic TMNT trivia and when she saw "Baxter Stockman" She said "Oh john cena voices him" but she made plenty of more mistakes in that same game, she just has "casual" TMNT knowledge so not a confirmation.

Yeah, I expected them to be wearing clothes like the Platinum Dunes Turtles but they aren't, they barely have any accessories on them either besides Mikey's smiley face kneepads. Don has the tech goggles but at least he's not wearing them all the time.

Also the alternate bandana's originated in Mirage #9, I don't know why people think the doo-rags are from Next Mutation or the new movies.

I might have misunderstood but I think they said that Donnie’s backpack is made to help him because of the type of turtle he is. Or something along those lines. Added protection or something like that.

That puzzles me a bit.

Usually for a new incarnation they try to do something really-really different with designs, but ROTMNT doesn't look particularly different.
Especially strange since the previous version has ended just in the past year.
