did anybody else notice that this ish was seemingly modeled after the Mirage short "New York Ninja"? Where some thugs were picking on a little Chinese kid named Chang Lao and then Don taught the kid how to fight? ... bears much similarity.

probably a coincidence, seeing as how neither version is really anything new in the world of story telling hehe

the art was excellent as always but the story was not as strong as the others....in my opinion.

OK.. now I have to say i DO love the new DW comic. I think it's great that someone else has the chance to handle this liscense and I refuse to judge it only six issues into it's printing especially since only 2 of those issues have been completely original.

I do hope that the story improves a bit though. I can see it takeing a bit for it to really get started. And it's possible they are doing single turtle related issues to help give you a better idea of how THEY write the characters.

All in all.. I think the story is fantastic. it has tremendous potential. Sure it's not fantastical right now. but the potential for it to just completely blow us away is there. I say we give them a chance to just get it started. sometimes things are a little rough in the begining stages. once they smooth it out. find their groove and so forth. Who knows what we will be seeing.

now here is my only gripe. the art in this one seemed a little inconsistant at times. so I am not sure what was going on there.. it looked GREAT but.. some parts didn't really match up. and I dunno.. I can't draw but I have been told by everyone I know I have a good eye.. so they always ask me to crituiqe their art.. and I did find a few things i COULD nitpick at but wont.

still.. the issue was VERY good and I really hope to see more with the character development.

What easter egg? Enlighten me

I looked at what I thought was the 8th page (is that including the advert?) and it has Dheeraj being beaten up in 3 cells and thats it...

And I'm not too worldly on all turtles knowledge

ok my thoughts on this issue

the story was nice..not the best TMNT story ever though mind you...sort of like the filler episodes on the new show....there fun but not the best...
the art...hmm i don't know it seems to be lacking something that the previous issues had...I did also get confused on peoples races in this issue....april and a few others looked black, latino, white,or asian threw the comic a few times..not that it really matters besides April I guess...but maybe cause people like to know what race these guys and gals are...I think it's all the brown tones used in the comic that make it a bit hard to tell at times....but I do love the brown tones...but LeSean your art is beautiful and an extremely original style and I love it hard-core! I also have to say it's also really nice to see a big mix of races in your version..seeing as its been mostly white people in the lives of the TMNT.....which seemed a bit racist to me at times.....I'm glad you use Baxter allot also he's one of my new fave villains...just one more complaint though...what happened with the original story the cover was for? is it going to come along later or was it scraped for this one? I'd really like to know what the turtles have in common with Hun!
ooo and how could I forget I loved the old show style homage there with the pizza you go man! heh
keep up the good work LeSean
