I’m not entirely convinced that she was intentionally trying to run him over. But it’s still a bad move on her part.

If you have a negative experience with law enforcement: SHUT UP AND LAWYER UP. Don’t make things worse for yourself.

Or better yet, try to avoid putting yourself in that situation in the first place.

The guy at the centre of this, Jonathan Ross, has been an ICE agent for ten years, has 35 use of excessive force dockets on his record, and trains other ICE agents (!). Maybe not surprising he acted that way then. Oh and apparently in a Ross Geller moment, his first wife left him and became a lesbian, snacking up with another woman. So he’s probably pissed at them too.

Anyway, I often see American complaining about their police force online. Are cops really that bad and lacking proper training in the US as people say they are or is it mostly the internet exaggerating things like it often does? Because I've seen Americans describing their cops as pretty much gang members who are rude and aggressive to everyone and don't know how to deescalate situations, and basically hunt black people for sport.

CNN exposed its bias when a far-left protester walked up to a reporter asking who she was, and she let them know a network they can trust and it's OK. Then she thanks the protestor for their help, and they immediately walk away from her. I'm sure if she would've been with Fox News, the protestor would've harrased her.

Let's not pretend it isn't likely that it can go both ways if the protestor and news source are political opposites, no matter which is which.

So it sounds like the reporter was approached uninvited by someone who is potentially feeling a bit aggressive and the reporter, as a human being, said things to help make that person go away. I don't see the problem.

Maybe that’s the type of person being recruited as much as the training?

Anyhow, to compare the average US cop gets 21 weeks training. The average British officer will get 42 weeks training and take two years before they qualify out of probation.

If this is meant to draw the comparison I assume it is, the Palestinian casualties dwarf Iranian casualties. Particularly the demographics of women and small children.

Also, this is being used as an excuse for the US to go be Team America and attack Iran over it. The exact opposite of that happened with Israel.

You do realize people protest Israel here because we’re their main financial backer, right? What sense would it make to protest an American enemy here in the States?

I'll have to go find the video again, but it was basically demonstrating the same account on X or FB posted a number of similar sentences of the form "We need to deport all XXX out of the US!". Absolutely no issues or flags raised from the platform in question when XXX was whites, blacks, gays, Muslims etc... until they used "jews" and then the post was flagged and the account temp suspended for going against community standards. If that's not an obvious ****ing bias, I don't know what is.

I dunno how so many people can have the energy to get really involved in the whole Israel-Palestine conflict to the point of picking a side and defending it so strongly. I just don't have that kind of energy and I find it harder and harder to empathise with either side the older I get. Clearly both sides have done some indefensible things throughout the years and it's become an egg or chicken situation at this point.

They're both highly stubborn idiots and neither side seems truly interested in ending the conflict ever. By that, I mean, no one that's part of the leadership of either place seems to truly want to end things. Both claim the land is theirs and neither side wants to divide it. So they're just stuck in a forever perpetual state of war, I guess...
