Best 89 Season Episode?
The 1989 Season was the longest of all the seasons, most featured Shredder, Krang and co. This is where the creators tried to explore new types of adventures for them, some were serious, some were humorous and some were just plain goofy.
In my opinion, "The Big Blow Out" is the last and best of the 89 Season. It's well edited and comes to a great cliffhanger, after the Technodrome was destroyed accidentely by the Rock Soldiers. It made you think that Krang and Shredder were stuck in Dimension X and might never terrorise the turtles again. That episode is closely followed by "The Big Break-In". Once again, the Technodrome almost taking over the world becomes a highlight of the season just like "Return of the Technodrome" in the 88 Season. However, this time there's more build-up over several episodes. The 3rd best episode is "Cowabunga Shredhead", probably one of the best humorous eps of the cartoon. It works so well, with sharp editing and funny seeing Shredder act as Michaelangelo, with much thanks to James Avery's voice. Other best episodes include: "Invasion Of the Turtle Snatchers"- it was interesting seeing the usual villains getting split up, and the most unusual alliance of Rocksteady and Donatello. I thought there was actually a great chemistry between them. "Shredderville"- An under-rated, but very good episode. So original, and really good twists and turns in it, like Shredder as a worrysome businessman! " The Big Rip-Off"- Where this time the bad guys win, when Bebop and Rocksteady actually do something right this time! "Bye, Bye Fly"- Baxter comes along a gem of a chance, when he comes across a hidden spaceship inside an underground table. Good action on the footski's in the sewer! "Blast From the Past"- It's got great flashbacks to the 87 Season, which how well it stands out, including the animation, which seems more detail, but the brand new storyline is also one of the better ones. Other memorable episodes include (there's so many) 50 Foot Irma, Sky Turtles, Turtle Teminator, Metalhead episode, Enter the Rat King...just too many. Weakest episodes? That would be between "Green With Jealousy", "Camera Bugged", "Mr Ogg Goes To Town", "20,000 Leaks Under the City", "Mutagen Monster" and " Usagi Yojimbo". Anyone Agree? |

I loved just about every episode in SEason 3. SEASON 3 was lots of fun fun fun fun, with the humor and comedy, character development, the best of bebop and rocksteady and krang and shredder were becoming more of a bickering couple and battles and plots and was more elaborate than seasons 1 and 2 with the adventures and new characters and it was mix of old (frogs, baxter) and new characters (Rat king, leatherhead etc). I loved The big break in. that was an epic episode, that ep I do remember. If I could remember the big blow out, it would be my fav from what I hear. I probably did see the big blow out, but it has been a while since I last saw the rest of the season 3 episodes that I do not have on tape. I just wish I could remember the big blow out. There are many other eps I don't remember much about since its been a while of seeing those eps.

That was a very good season.
Ones I remember best: "Bye, Bye, Fly"-Mostly because it featured what I thought for years was the death of Baxter Stockman. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. In all forms, black, white, fly or robot, Baxter has a knack for coming back when nobody wants him to. "The Big Blow Out"-I think that was the last episode of the season. One of my favorites, Shredder vs Splinter and the Technodrome sinking into the lava being the most memorable scenes. "Corporate Raiders from Dimension X"-I think this is my favorite of the two Casey jones episodes I remember (or barely remember). This had two awesome psycho-Casey scenes going for it. Number 1 was the TMNT trying to get his attention by performing a "crime", so they tip a vending machine back and forth ever so slightly. Casey then pops out like a lunatic and starts wailing on them with his hockey stick. Sweet. Then there was the scene where Casey, in a suit and tie, goes down the the office building and DEMANDS a job...all while wearing his hockey mask. |

One flaw with season 3 was they kept using the plot of having a robot out to destroy the turtles (the turtle terminator, making of metalhead and turtles turtles everwhere), but the eps had different features and that is what mattered. The best plots were in season 3 and the setting of being in the earth's core was good. AS the season went on it was getting better and better and started out good. |

Ok, this is a tough one... Everyone so far has picked good episodes... here are mine:
"Enter the Rat King" I just like the Rat King as a villian, and this episode was good besides a few corny parts. "Cowabunga Shredhead" of course...a rare look at Shredder's Michaelangelo side.. "Bye Bye Fly" this episode had me thinking for awhile...it had everything...Baxter getting eaten by a spider (supposedly)..Michaelangelo as a hamster, and Shredder as a fly! "Leatherhead Meets the Rat King" Interesting episode, too bad it was a stale mate.' "The Maltese Hamster" a unique episode, and Don centered...nice.. "The Ninja Sword of Nowhere" an original idea. A sword that cuts through reality. Some of the best quotes of the season are in this episode. the worst ones IMO..... "Attack of the Big Macc"...This episode was so boring.. yawn. "Leatherhead Terror of the Swamp" The story had so many farfetched ideas that it was just too dumb, and the frogs didn't help it any.. "Case of the Hot Kimono" ok, let's go rob all the kimono cleaning stores in town!!! lol.. "Mutagen Monster" snore.... "The Turtle Terminator" Krang makes an Irma robot to destroy the Turtles? Uh.....ok... |

I didn't like Mutagen Monster or Turtle Terminator because the other guy who was not Barry Gordon played the voice of Don.

I liked "Bye Bye Fly" for the simple Shredder-Fly. Obnoxiously funny. And I was disappointed in "Usagi Yojimbo". What was the deal with him fighting that half-naked black dude? Yee.

I can't remember the Usagi episodes because I Really hated them! LOL But I remember he worked at some restaurant where the employees dressed up as rabbits and his manager really hated him or something but that's about it!

Oh, yeah. Now I remember. Usagi got pissed that the restaurant was depicting rabbits in a disrespectful way, so he stripped the manager's clothes off. Heh. Well, at the time it was funny.

Which was better, "Usagi Yojimbo", or "Usagi Come Home"? I think I liked "Usagi Yojimbo" better. I didn't think it was that bad. There were some good quotes, and it showed Usagi in his world which was cool. Don called Michelangelo "Mikey", which was a rarity in that show... They always called each other by their long names.
The whole "bunny restaurant" was pretty dang corny though... but hey it was the 80s i guess.. "Usagi Come Home" wasn't that bad, Turtles vs. Usagi in the mall, hehe... I don't remember this one as good as the other one. I always wanted to see Usagi return to the series, maybe in the red sky eps or something. Usagi vs. Dregg.... there's a fight I would pay 1 cent to see. Him appearing in "The Big Brawl" suffices though. |

Which one was it where Shredder tricked Usagi into losing a sword fight and told him by honor that he must kill the turtles?

A much better scene than the one in the restaurant.

"Usagi Yojimbo" was also one of the weaker episodes. Shredder and Krang were in it, but Bebop and Rocksteady weren't unusually, but it got bogged down by the bunny restuarant, and i wasn't too impressed be Usagi's voice.
