Tales of the TMNT #7 (Spoilers and such)

Just came out today.

At first I was hating the issue. It's the goth poetry. I hate goths and I hate their poetry. And this issue has a loooooot of it. However, Raph put it best:

"Man, she sucks"

Thank you.

However, I can never turn down a good werewolf story. Gotta love em. At first I thought this was going to turn into a rip-off of An American Werewolf in Paris, with the Werewolves tricking a bunch of teenagers into going to a party so they could eat them. But instead it turned into a transformation ceremony.

I haven't read too many comics with Shadow, so this was some good insight into her character (for me, anyway). Also an obvious set-up for a future story invloving Lillith's revenge. That should turn out alright.

All in all, I can't say it's one of the better issues of Tales, but it's okay.

Since for some reason my comic shop gets TMNT a week after most places get it, I have to wait, but I'll let you know what I think when I do get it.

Well actually, Tales #7 wasn't on Diamond's shipping list this week, so it's not really "scheduled" to be out until next wednesday. But I noticed the comic shop I go to had it this week as well. I didn't get it yet, but I will soon.

Ok issue, not into the wolf thing. Hopefully the Raph/Latherhead story is better.

Thanks for letting us know that. I was all annoyed today when I couldn't find it at my comic shop.

I picked this up yesterday at my local comic shop. I thought the story was okay, but I didn't like the song lyrics at all. Still, it had an intersting plot, and I enjoyed the relationship between Raph and Shadow. Seems like Shadow had a rebellious streak, just like her uncle when he was a teen.

What?

Did anybody read the last letter in Tails Mail, entitled "Far Better to Remain Silent" ?

What the hell is this guy babbling about? I'm pretty sure it wasn't the comic.

Anyone want to hazard a guess as to what this pontificating cliche' monger is on about?

I cant remember.... I think I only skimmed through that letter, but I didnt think the issue was bad some good ideas I guess. The next issue should be cool Dan Berger is doing it I believe story by him and Peter Laird??? I believe any way, I enjoyed Leatherhead too, from the original vol 1 the begining was done similar to TMNT#1 and had a nice look to the art.

Also Tales goes monthly now I guess we will get #7 either late February or March.... I didnt get this issue until at least a week if not 2 weeks since I saw this thread by the time my comic shop go it in.

Yeah, I seem to get my TMNT comics a few weeks before everyone else. Wonder what the deal with that is.

Yea, I thought the poerty/song crap sucked big time...but any issue with Raph as a main character is cool in my book..not really looking forawrd to the continutation of the story which we know we'll get at some point....I thought that rant @ the end of the letters section was pretty pointless as well...but i am looking VERY MUCH forward to Tales going monthly...

yea I have to admit I was goth for some time in my teen years I'm a performance artist now....and ugh I don't even want to think of the gothness! *staples hand to forhead* lol
anyway onto the issue...
The oddest thing to me was the poster of imani copila on shadows wall she hasn't done anything new in years being a fan of her music she did makes me wonder when shadow was telling this story? michael dooney is great he really needs to work on the turtles again....I'm growing quite tired of jim lawson doing everything no offence to him or anything.....but it's getting quite stale to me....I really do like how he draws certain things like monsters and the turtles....other things get on my nervs though like humans and splinter....
I really do like all the little hidden things in the backgrounds etc.
the story for the most part was ok not the best turtle story ever.....it is important I'm sure none the less..
I do wish it was explained more as to why these people were and why they were turned into wearwolves? it just all seemed so half done I guess...
I'd give this issue a c+
I can't wait for next months issue yay leatherhead!
take it easy guys!

I liked this issue... good story, good art.. the werewolf thing kind of threw me for a loop..unexpected. It had some funny parts, and some sad parts, but well done I'd say. We get to see how Shadow came to be living with Splinter on the farm. Very cool that Tales is now going monthly. I'll have to see if I can scrounge up an extra $2.99 every two months....

That was an interesting story, although I never thought Shadow would be a goth lover at any point in her life. Oh well, I guess you never know.
