New Gamcube Owner...must have games to get???

OK...i finally decided to get a Gamecube (Christmas presnt for myself )...i was looking for the right deal and finally found one....New system bundled with Mario Party 7 w/ microphone and 2 controllers for $79...

I swung by a Rhino games and picked up a Memory card, Zelda Windwaker and Metroid Prime for $32...

So thats where I'm at....this is my 1st foray out of PS land in a long, long time (had PS1 for many years, b4 getting PS2 for the last few years)...

So recommendations please? I like pretty much every genre except for Football games: they've gotten to damn complicated over the past few years...

Thanx!!

Ai mentioned almost everything that I had in mind, I think. Smash Bros. Melee, both Metroid Primes, Tales of Symphonia, Wind Waker, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, Soul Calibur II (unless you have a PS2 and $50, then upgrade to SCIII. It's worth it. I knwo the controls are different, but I graduated from SCII on GC just fine)...Double Dash was also a lot of fun. And Sonic Mega Collection is also a very good buy, I think. It may also be out on PS2, I think. But it's got a lot of great games on it.

I'll post any more I can think of later.

Mario Kart Double Dash - Not as good as Mario Kart DS, but still great
Paper Mario 2 The Thousnad Year Door - 2nd funniest RPG Ever
Soul Calibur II - "This Victory Strengthens the Soul of...." Badass 3D fighter
Eternal Darkness - Will scare the living sh*t out of you in abnormal ways.
Resident Evil 4 - Play this (and make sure it's the Gamecube version), or you can't call yourself a gamer.
Killer 7 - Most messed up experience ever, and that's a good thing.

"Stay away from all Mario Party Games at all cost, oh wait.....too late "

Star Wars Rouge Squardon II Rouge Leader - Blow up the Death Star
Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix - Like classic gaming music Rave style? Play this.

The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess - Suscessor to greatest game of all time, due this April.

Animal Crossing (or get a DS...)
Donkey Konga
DDR: Mario Mix
Soul Calibur 2 (worth it for Link)
Ikaruga
Legend of Zelda: Colectors Edition (if you can find it used, get it)
Super Smash Bros
Viewtiful Joe
Resident Evil 4
Eternal Darkness
MGS: the twin snakes
Custom Robo
F-zero GX
Metroid Prime 1 and 2
Donkey Kong Jungle Beat
Tales of Symphonia

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance

And go reserve Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess RIGHT. NOW. Go, do it.

If you like the old Sonic games you could get the Sonic Mega and Gems Collections, they're not too dear and great fun!

Very nice yall...i was thinking of goin with Super Smash Bros and RE4 next so I wanted to see if anybody would recommend them...and most of you have so cool...i figure with those two, along with Windwaker and Metroid Prime that I already picked up I should be good for a bit, with a good variety...but pleas keep listing ideas...thnx!

EDIT: Paper Mario 2 or Super Smash? Probably get them both at some point but if you had to just choose 1 to start with, which would it be...?

Answer this question and then decide. Do you play alot of games with friends? If so Smash Brothers for sure. If you prefere single player Smash Brothers is still an awesome game but without multiplayer as a factor then it's a choice between fighters and RPGs. In my opinion Smash Brothers is longer and if I remember correctly cheaper so buy which ever you can afford.

Although I am in no way a fan of the music released on Donkey Konga 2. I pretty much hate almost every song. I played it for the first time recently and I have to say that the two-player duet mode is a vast improvement over any two player game the original offered. Here's hoping that if Nintendo sells a 3rd game the offer the charm of the first with the new mechanics of the second.

Well, I just opened the Cube up and poped in Metroid Prime...man, what a BEAUTIFUL game...I am very impressed...i thought the Cube graphics might be a bit subpar compared to PS2 but i was wrong...the game looks (and plays) fantastic...im hooked...

Best part is I threw in Mario Sunshine for my wife and she loves it too!! I think ill try it as well but Ima pound away at Prime for now...and then after that I got Wind Waker to play...what a way to start the new year!!

Common misconception. Gameube is about 30%-40% more powerful that PS2. Glad you're enjoying it

Yea I had no idea graphically what the Cube could produce...I can only imagine what RE4 looks like...

So graphically speaking, what would you all say is the most visually awesome game on cube? Or on any system for that matter..?

Following on from saying Metroid Prime was good I'd recommened the sequel too, I'm about 5 hours through it and it's great. Not as good as the first but still great!
