Gold plated Leo statue on eBay

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/TMNT-Ninja-Tu...QQcmdZViewItem

Thought I'd post this outside the eBay Almighty thread seeing as there's only one day left in case people don't look inside the eBay thread that much! It's pretty dear at AU$1,000 (US$755, Canadian$880) but ya never know, one of you might have the cash

I now have to part with it due to other commitments.
What the... What kind of "commitments" makes you have to part with an inatimate object that requires absolutely no care at all to keep?

That's a wierd statement, in any case.

To be honest it being gold takes away from the detail and how awesome it looks. But then again I think gold is ugly, and it makes it look more like a trophy as opposed to statue.

Wow, what are the chances that an Aussie would own this? :p

I don't mind the gold - you get used to seeing gold varients when you're a Trabsformers fan. Heh

at least the dude originally won it and helped NA wood turtle research. If I had the dough, it'd be mine...but I'm poor like everybody else.

i agree with Spitfire...gold...bleah...it'd be prettier in silver.

maybe the dude's needing money for other things he wants to do or pay off a credit card. Sometimes other things are more inportant than a gold plated, one of a kind statue of a bitchin comic book character.

I wouldn't make him out to be a saint, sure he helped the turtle research the first time around, but there were other bidders. If not him someone else. The fact that he's reselling it for more than he paid means that the winner of this auction would be the one helping the turtle research, and this guy is profiting from a charity auction that he's reselling.

Guys it is indeed NOT hard to gold-plate one yourself, this statue doesnt have any documentation or official stamp/signature/stickers/sheets to proof its uniqueness and authenticity. Be honest I can just get a Leo statue myself and plate it, probably gonna cost me 180$ on total, not hard at all.

Well, if I recall correctly this gold figure went for a pretty high price the first time around, not far removed from what hes asking now...

As a tmnt fan, Im sure he must have a VERY good reason for parting with it...

Auction ended.

Nobody is stupid enough to pay that dose for a gold figure.

*sighs* If I didn't want to pay my bills for this month, I would defnately have had enough money to buy that damn thing. I'll just live with my Leo statue I got last week.
