Recommended Readings
This is just athread where any of you can post books/comics/or anything you've read that you think other people might enjoy.
I read a lot, comics, magazines, novels, pretty much anything I like. Here's my list: Comics: TMNT-Duh Crimson- Great Vampire/Werewolf/Monter story, amazing art. Out There- Done by the same people who did Crimson Amazing Spider-Man: Romita Jr. is one of the greatest artists alive Peter Parker: Spider-Man- Ramos who drew Crimson/Out There drew this, great story. Novels: The Long Walk- My all time favorite, written by Stephen King, he used his alias, Richard Bachman when he released this, great story, scary, makes you think. IT- Another Stephen King book, long, but good. The 13th Warrior(originally 'Eaters Of The Dead')- Good book, sorta funny if you imagine Antonio Banderez as the main chaacter. Atlantis Found- Good book, some parts are boring, but still good. Resident Evil series- Best book series I've read. Weaveworld- Clive Barker, long and good. The Dictionary- Heh. Magazines: Wizard- Good comic book mag. Toy Fare- Toy magazine, the writers love TMNT too. GamePro- Just plain good. So what's your list? |

"Eaters of the Dead"?
Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy Jurassic Park (the book is a lot better than the movie) Hmm... that's all that comes to mind. If I think of anything else, I'll post it. |

Raptor Red by Robert Bakker - Machias will back me on this. Great storytelling set in prehistory. Jurassic Park without all those stupid humans.
Witches Chillers by Silver RavenWolf - A novel series about a coven of teenage witches (no, not the Harry Potter type.) Fun to read, basic teen novels with some cool metaphysics tossed in for excitement. Harry Potter, all books - *blinks* Don't look at me like that, they're good books. |

Books! Heh heh...
For those of you who enjoy a good murder mystery, I highly recommend "And Then There Were None" by Agatha Christie. Also check out "Murder on the Orient Express" by the same author. Absolutely amazing books, with strong characters and complex, jaw-dropping plots. For those who enjoy a bit of fantasy, I recommend the Dragonriders of Pern series from Anne McCaffrey. I especially enjoyed the Harper Hall Trilogy, which focuses on a girl's struggle to find an identity. Good stuff. And for anyone out there who's into Shakespeare's stuff, I just finished reading "The Tempest," and I thought it was awesome.

Eaters Of The Dead is just the old title of The 13th Warrior. It was written by Micheal Chriton, the guy who wrote Jurassic Park.

I know, but that can't change the fact that Eaters of the Dead is far from the greatest book out there But all that aside, how could I forget about "And Then There Were None"? I'll agree, it's a really great book, the ending came as a surpise. But that's what makes Agatha Christie's books so interesting. There's always some surpise twist or turn, so it's never who you think it is. "The Clocks" is another one of her books that stands out in my mind.

The Long Walk is really disturbing, yet it's the best book I've read.

I'd like to add Bruce Campbelle's and Jackie Chan's biographies to my list. Both are funny, good reads.

I just read a book, one of my brothers. It's very good, it's called "A Lycanthropy Reader: Werewolves In Western Culture" It's filled with cool facts, gross info, true stories, really amazing.

hmmm
reading....
i read books by Ken Wilber (transpersonal/integral psychologist), Stephen Hayes (American ninja), Glenn Morris (another American ninja), Masaaki Hatsumi (ninja grandmaster), Anne Rice (freaky vampire chick), Deepak Chopra (spiritual guru), Michael Chricton is kewel, Anne McCaffrey is interesting... i also really like stuff from Joseph Campbell (mythologist incarnate), and the 'jesus was a pagan god' series by Tim Freke and Pete Gandy. the tmnt comics are really the only comics i read, but i also like the wolverine, x-men, and dbz titles.

Stephen King's The Stand is a great book too. But most of King's work is great. Playboy's a good read too, lol, but lots of pictures. |
