OMG y didn't know that

nofuture4u · 07-27-2009, 02:47 PM

These cats are mondo bodacious dude. I wish I could get my hands on the prototypes they took pictures of. Those would be a really great piece in a collection.

rinascimento · 10-04-2009, 08:27 AM

that creepy crawling splinter is awesome! 10x better than the released one..

There's nothing really different about him. It's the same figure with the 1988 figure's belt and cape on.

Mighty Bebop · 10-06-2009, 09:09 PM

Hey guys,

I thought you all might like to see this one too, so I scanned it in. Here is the 1988 TMNT catalog.

Enjoy!

It would have been awesome if the Turtle Party Wagon would had The Turtle surprise front panel feature, that was shown in the 1988 catalog.

cloud · 10-20-2009, 04:02 AM

Thanks for sharing these catalogs. Recently I'm thinking of asking Playmates to consider making a collectors art book collecting all the package art for the TMNT line.

HissCommander · 10-30-2009, 06:03 AM

Nice stroll down memory lane. Thanks for the pics.

I still have a few of the little insert catalogs you got with vehicles. I love looking at those.

MikesPizzaShack · 01-14-2010, 08:08 PM

wow thanks for posting that. great memories.

Alex · 01-15-2010, 01:03 AM

LIES! The arms are different, and the head is too!!! The head is original Splinter's head painted differently.

*Samhain* · 03-10-2010, 08:35 PM

AWESOME! Love seeing these things.

McGregor · 06-07-2010, 04:03 AM

coool, but the technodrome in the 88' cataloge, is different from the released one? Or is it 2 versions of it?

Yes its different. They were originally going to make the large dome inflatable like the blimp but later changed it for the sake of durability. Also, it had a removable section in the front that would've served as a 'bonus vehicle'. There was only 1 technodrome released unless you count the considerably smaller scout rover.

Well, three if you count the mini-mutants version, which is a hybrid of the two

*TheCanadiandrome* · 06-07-2010, 12:10 PM
