The commercial culprit revealed!

Remember those creepy Playmates commercials for the original toy line in which an actor would wear a turtle costume (ala Coming Out of Their Shells quality) and perform in character? Well, the artist behind them has summoned up the courage to reveal himself and start a YouTube channel!

http://www.youtube.com/user/spclfxguy

Unfortunately, the video seems way too fast and doesn't match the audio on most of the clips.

Pretty Cool,

and that animatronics head in the first commercial even looks way better then the ones from Turtles III.

I'm glad they got the original OT voices together for these spots. But, man, imagining Leonardo as Bob Sagat just makes me want to hide in fear!

Ha ha, the sewer sand cruiser fires guns. I don't think I've ever seen an OT turtle fire a machine gun at the robot foot soldiers. Ha ha ha!

So... interesting thing happens when I get this guy on the phone. You'd think by reading his profile on youtube that he is an effects guy working in the movie business and would be cool to talk to. In the entire production of the Turtle Doc I have spoken to tons of people on the phone, people I would NEVER in my life expected to talk to on the phone! EVERY single one of them were more than nice! Including many fans here on the board! Amazing people to talk to in fact. This guy.... he really didn't want to talk... in fact he says "I don't want to talk about it"... conversation ends hahaha. Oh well, it was worth a try, but I don't think we will be seeing history of the later Turtle commercials from his angle in the doc.

That's awesome you got ahold of him. Frankly, I don't think I would really have wanted to talk about it either. Props to you, C.T.!

By the sounds of it, the company ended on a bad note, by what he was saying. But that said he has it posted right there on his youtube profile that he is in the business and people should check out his stuff. Maybe he is just easily intimidated... I don't know. He didn't sound to happy. Totally off topic, but I'd say the one person I was the most intimidated by in the production was Pat Fraley, but that's just because he is crazy! haha Really good guy though!

Over half those videos are unwatchable. I'm assuming he exported them wrong or when he uploaded them he used a codec youtube doesn't like. Whatever the case you typically check your videos before making them live.

Because they are sooo out of sync many aren't even the whole ad. The Safari Turtles ad suffers worst, in my opinion...
