Come on, peeps, context is key!

Not everyone is assuming it's the real deal. People were just critiquing it. So far I have seen one person who actually thought it was real.

Right I knew it wasn't official, and never said it was, I just commented that I thought the style would look horrid in 3D. It would look like TMNT almost with how lanky they are. Given what he said plot wise it sounds like something a revamp for turtles would entail. It's a mix of the OT and 2K3. If he actually was pitching, or had pitched, that was probably based off what he was told to do. Who knows though. With so little info on this new series it's impossible to know what they're really doing.

I think the designs could (with some tweaking) be done well in 3D, just remove all that glossy gear. At least, his coloring makes it look extremely glossy

Those designs look about as good as "Back to the Sewer" which to say, wasn't very good. I've seen tons of fan art that would be better suited but to each their own. Thank God this is just fan art and nothing more. If the new show ended up looking like this, I think I'd pass.

I think its laughable that people really thing the Turtles will look so different than any other incarnation. They probably won't look all that different than the various cartoons.

What I wonder is if they'll have their initials on their belts like the OT....

My concern is the story right now. I can get past character designs if the story is really engaging.

Yeah, I agree. Nickelodeon didn't shell out sixty million just for the name recognition. They're bound to look fairly similar to the classic Turtle design.

Frankly, and I know I'm gonna get beaten down for this, but I wouldn't mind if they converted the classic 1987 cartoon designs to CG. Those are good, charming designs, and as long as they keep them from becoming too chubby, those designs could be used for humor, action, etc. Maybe add a little more texture to the kneepads and elbow pads.

Whatever they do, it's going to be a little weird knowing neither Eastman nor Laird was involved. I'm excited to see what they come up with. If it looks cool, I'll watch it. If I don't like it, I won't. I'd like some cool toys, though!

(And I don't know if I should admit this but I really like Fanboy and Chum Chum! I think the character designs - and how they come across in CG - are pretty cool!)

If somebody's gonna beat you down, then they gotta go through me first, dude! Yeah, I think a CGI treatment of the Old Toon style would be awesome!

Yeah, they do - though not in this case.

Actually, that's what I've been expecting all along.

i highly doubt that they are going to re-do the OT even jus convert it to CGI. Nick is working on something, and lets just hope its good.

I'd love it if they used the designs for the WB show that never was. A perfect mix of OT & mirage.

I did like how the turtles looked. Didn't like anyone else though. Splinter was okay but Casey and April looked weird. Didn't dig Shredder's armor much either.
