It's knowing he's going to say misinformed crap like this that stops me from watching these videos. When I see people spreading misinformation I want to correct them, and usually not very nicely. Silly example but he's said worse. Do your research! If you're going to do a video about characters most people only have a very basic knowledge of do it right. Like I said before idiots will believe anything he says, and that's a big problem.

I was expecting the next part of his OT review, but oh well this was good, and it got the word out about how we get the ****** end of the stick with DVD releases.

Part of me is surprised he didn't mention the release of Season 7...in 4 parts. Though it seems James has the collected season 7 and not the "Sliced" season 7.

I'm quite disapointed with this new video. I was hoping to see him talk more about the show itself, not how it was released.

I'm pretty sure this isn't Part 2 of that retrospective he's doing. Sit tight.

He plans to release a weekly Turtle video THROUGHOUT the summer. The three part review on the old toon is probably sprayed a little out.

It's a Chronologically Confused video, not part 2.

First of all, I know it's already been talked about, but I just wanted to say something. I believe James is a fan. Just because he doesn't post on this forum or know as much as most of us do about TMNT doesn't mean he's not a fan. People like us are super-fans, and he's a fan, which there is nothing wrong with. And could we not jump all over the guy if he gives out some incorrect info? He said there was 14 episodes in season 4, so what? Who is that going to hurt? I could understand if he said there was 7 turtles and the creators of the TMNT were Jack Kirby and Joe Shuster, but trivial things are only going to bug us and nobody else. And who knows, maybe he just got mixed up at the moment or something. No need to form a lynch mob.

Anyway, now that I've said my piece, I really dug this video, and like Bjarni said, it was a pleasant surprise to hear him talk about the 2K3 show too. I'm hoping that one of his next videos will be a more complete coverage of his action figure collection and maybe MFer Mike's collection that was briefly hinted at in another video.

Part 2 of the 3 part retrospective:
http://cinemassacre.com/2011/05/03/t...w-part-2-of-3/

Not bad...but he of course he hears profanity where there isn't any.
His monster movie buff status rings through in his analysis. All in all a good video.

Wow, overall a very good video by the James! He taught me more than a few things I didn't know, on account of his exhaustive knowledge of classic B-level monster movies. I do agree with Jester on the one criticism; I felt like he probably just wasted a minute or so pretending he was mishearing lines of dialogue. Even he admitted Ninja Turtles is not one of those shows that adults can really rewatch and discern suggestive double meanings. And, for the record, the expression "puss" (as in sourpuss, picklepuss, etc.) was never considered controversial in cartoons of those days (he actually kept pronouncing it like it was a different word).

I really enjoyed this week's video. It's always fun watching these episodes now. As a kid, I didn't catch half of the pop culture references jammed into each episode. When he touches on monster movies, it really gives a good summary of those references since I had never seen any of those movies when I first saw tmnt.

It seemed like he thought he caught an audio goof so he decided to devote a segment to it. The problem, however, is that none of the audio "profanity" he explains seems legitimate. The only one he mentions that might even be close is "pu$$Y" and even that is a stretch. It sounded more like puss.

Fun video.

This in my opinion was his best video so far, very informative and funny!

I loved all the monster movie references and the part with the swearing gave me a good laugh!

Looking forward to next week!

I was kind of hoping James would do a quick overview of the series like what went on in each season and so on but I guess this is interesting as well. I'm guessing we won't get the third part for another 2 weeks and next week we'll get a non-OT video like last time. I also wonder if the OT review was only 3 parts what else will he review. He never mentioned the 2k3 show but he seems to have the DVDs so I hope he'll talk about that show. Besides that he's already talked about pretty much everything of the turtles except the comics, TNM and the videogames outside of the first one. I mean he said this would continue through out the summer.

I think the best thing about the new video was seeing all the tropes mashed together. I saw a lot of scenes I haven't seen since I was a kid. I'm also happy that he talked about "Turtles, Turtles everywhere". That episode was so good that I was planning on doing my own retrospective on it. Michelangelo's comment on the music is still one of my all time favorite moments.

He also did a good retrospective on the Technodrome. I loved seeing all the different animation styles it went through in the show.

The cursing was the most James-like. The bucking one was the best one.

That will be part three of the Original Series.

Episodes he could possibly have down the line:
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles manga
Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation
The first two movies.
The Mirage comics
The Archie comics
The video games
The 4kids show
Speculations about the new show (like he did with the new movie)

But we'll just have to wait and see...

I'm surprised he didn't reference Gorgonzola by name....

I must be the only one who got a laugh out of James hearing swears in the show. Besides, some of the stuff isn't as far fetch as you think. What April said clearly hints she wants to curse.

Anyway, I think James' movie knowledge really showed people here a thing or two about TMNT. I always knew about the many cheesy movie references, but some of the direct quotes completely escaped me.

When I watched Leonardo: Renaissance Turtle April's line made me laugh. I'm sure I didn't get it at a kid. That is the only one, though, that's even remotely "adult" of those lines he mentioned.
