Elias Koteas Movies.

So I was fast forwarding through an old VHS tape I bout for cheap at a flea market and it had a copy of the movie Tucker: The Man and His Dream which stars Jeff "The Dude" Bridges, Joan Allen, Martin Landau, and our man Elias Koteas. (oddly Mako was also in it...) I remembered it being there as I fast forwarded it, and remembered I needed to actually watch it at some point. There have been other movies I've watched primarily because Elias was in them. I'm not sure if it was him or Steve Martin that caused me to watch Novocaine. I was shocked to see him in Gattaca. I bought the TV miniseries Traffic just because he was in it.

So, you ever watch a flick (or get greater enjoyment out of a movie) because Elias "Casey" Koteas is in it?

Here's his IDMB page, for anyone who wants to look at his full work:

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000480/

He's been in a lot of movies and/or episodes of various TV shows.

When I saw 'The Haunting in Connecticut' i didn't realise it was Elias at first. Got some pretty weird looks from my roommate when I sprung off the couch "IT'S CASEY JONES!!!"
Took abit of convincing but he saw it in the end.

Yep... Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Sure he's only in the beginning of the movie....but still I went to see it knowing he was in it. Who cares about Brad Pitt. Elias was the blind clock maker Monsieur Gateau.

I also watched Traffic because of him.

I have yet to see Shutter Island or Let Me In....but knowing he's in em I'll probably will someday (even tho I generally avoid Di Crapio movies).

Loved the eps of House he was in. Twas the first time I realized he'd gone bald.

Starting in June we'll be seeing him in a new MASH like medical drama called The Hot Zone. Premiers June 21st on ABC.

Yesterday, we were flipping through stations and came to a movie called The Prophecy. It stared Elias Koteas. In my mind, I was like, "I know him, I know him...who is that guy, I know that name." I saw him, and it still didn't hit me yet, then about five or ten minutes in when he was asked to investigate a crime scene, and he was talking more, it hit me who it was!

It was an interesting movie, even if Christopher Walken kinda stole the show. lol

He has a pretty big role in David Cronenberg's Crash(1996).

I ended up by chance watching "Skinwalkers " and "The Haunting in Connecticut " both in the same week, with absolutely no idea he was in either of them.

Frankly he was the only reason I made it through both films too

I also remember squealing out in the theater when I saw his name in the opening credits of "The Greatest Game Ever Played" I was with a bunch of people and none of them understood why I was excited.

Saw him in Shutter Island. Thought it was De Niro from the trailers.

Saw him in Apt Pupil. What a trippy ass movie. Poor Elias is killed with a shovel.

Crash shows you a completely different side of him & is also a pretty decent movie, though not my favorite Cronenberg flick. As for Elias Koteas IMDB- The Killer Inside Me is a pretty good movie, in addition to most the others mentioned above.

I haven't watced a film specifically because he was in it, but I have seen a couple with him in them.

Collateral Damage - Ahnuld movie, Koteas bites the bullet pretty bad in that film.

Shooter - Koteas plays one evil dude and again bites it nasty.

Both times I thought to myself... they just killed Casey Jones, motherf*ckers!

One that I saw recently has him as a police officer in Defendor, which stars Woody Harrelson as a mentally challenged man who dresses as a superhero and fights crime.

Spoiler:
Koteas is actually a dirty cop, and he ends up getting shot in the nuts by Defendor.
