He released "Spielberg Games" on April 6th. So it's been just under 3 months. He does so many videos for his site (Board James, Film Reviews, Overanalyzers, You Know What's Bull-S**t?, Monster Madness) that I don't mind if he takes some time off between AVGN videos. I'm one of those people that doesn't think his AVGN videos have gotten stale, so if taking time off to work on his movie and the other videos he does helps him to not get stale, then all the power to him.
I thought this new TMNT video was ok, nothing great, but it was interesting to hear his friend's persepective on the Turtles and action figures as someone who is probably not very familiar with them.

Although seeing AVGN on DVDs about the Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th franchises was really something. Plus he got Bear McCreary to score an episode of AVGN. So I'm sure he's had more success than he originally anticipated. |

I couldn't see him making a theatrical release or getting one, unless it's at something like an Independent Film Festival.

Quite satisfying & (thankfully) accurate! I don't own those particular books, but I want to now. The colors really make everything pop.

Not one hundred percent accurate. He skipped all the one-shot's except Leo, and doesn't seem to know that more books are collected past these. And of course, these aren't black and white. The color in these books is really great, but nothing will ever look better than black and white duo-tones to my eyes.
But yeah, over all this was a great video. Hopefully a few people get into the comics after seeing this. |

You can see how effective this video is just by reading some of the comments there.

Really cool video. Aside from owning the original issues, I own those books too. They're great to have so you not only get the same experience of the originals but in color, they're also great if you want to revisit those stories but want to preserve your original copies as much as possible.

I watched that video the other day and I really liked it, though it actually does bother me a little that he didn't do a little more research on the series.

James may not be 100% accurate. Nevertheless, this weeks video was probably the best turtle awareness video for the people who frequent cinemassacre and don't know much about the tmnt comics. Regardless of the video's accuracy, it's a good way to generate some interest. And I enjoyed this week's

Very well done, it's kinda too bad they didn't squeeze in Raphael # 1 somewhere in there to better explain where Casey came from.
Also I just noticed during one of the random panels he showed near the end... that those little tripod robots from TMNT II the Arcade Game and Manhattan Project were from the comics. I was confused where they came from since they were never seen in the 80's cartoon show.

I was aggravated that he'd go this route AGAIN but was pleasantly surprised with the result.
His friend hit a lot nails on the head but goddamn he needs a hug. Dude seemed very sad with his trip into nostalgia. |
