This is a good deal if you have a good way to sell the crap that comes with it.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/TEENAGE-MUTA...item2314f3520b

Personally its to many additional items for my to consider this.

Enjoy,

Greg

What's funny is that I recently bought #72 at a local shop for $1. Guess I lucked out.

I vaguely remember going to an arcade with my dad when I was very young and seeing a giant version of the Michaelangelo in the front hanging near the ceiling as prizes.

It was really large, like around 40' inches tall.

yeah, those exist, but they aren't playmates. They were made by a different company.

Apparently $9.60 a figure including shipping isn't enough to meet the reserve. It just shows how greedy some sellers may be, but I've never seen what a box of Playmate toys containing figures looked like before. The seller's explanation for his reserve?

Still, its wise that he mentions love as the real reason that these would be sold. If you don't appreciate TMNT that much, you don't deserve it since it doesn't motivate you. Only those who are really appreciative about it can feel willing to purchase such a lot at that sum.
lol im not greedy i just put them at a fair price of 24.00 per figure instead of charging like most do on ebay by overcharging 60 bucks for a leo raph, etc. heck if it would have got to 20 a fig i would have taken that. which you cant tell me isn't a fair price. i came up with that price by averaging out all that i have seen on ebay. so no 9 bucks isn't enough and you cant set there and tell me you would sell them for that price because you would be full of crap and in my book you would be a "reseller". The cases are not suppose to be any reason for my reserve. i just know when that 2 cases came up for sale a couple of months ago they went for 700 and 400. so i know they are valuable.

I value your opinion and that's what it is, a opinion. They are not yours and you don't have to sell them. they are mine and yes i do love them because they take me back to when i didn't have to worry about bills, kids, wife etc. so i will charge accordingly to how valuable they are to me so if they makes me greedy then please im guilty on all accounts.

i herd a saying one time that " a item is only as valuable on how much the person buying it, is willing to spend " so to you im sure its worth 9 bucks to me its more valuable.

my prices could be set at footballorangeguys, myteefinestuffs's and various other over chargers, but its not.

youre better off not winning it. Theres nothing fancy in there. Doesn't look like any of the wave 1 stuff is first release, and there are quite a few duplicates of commons. I guess it would be worth it to a reseller, but not to a collector. IMO.

can you provide pics of what "first release" looks like because im pretty sure most of the 88's are rubber. but im not an expert ive just been learning the difference between them all here recently. i had a theory that the tabs were an indicator to rubber/ 1st release.

also how would it not be worth it to a collector? show me on ebay all the figures i have in anything lower than 20. heck i could ask 40 to 50 for the antrax, bebop, rocksteady, the turtles, shredder, doc el, and others i cant think of at the moment. yes i do have extras but im going to possibly use those for traders.

and if i could prevent it i would not sell to resellers ie, mysterycolor. but of course she wouldn't care cause she floods ebay with loose figures. which is annoying because i have to sift through them every tue to get to the good auctions!

i take your opinion very seriously though because of your collecting years and seeing your collection but you cant say that 20 a figure is a bad deal, sure its not 10. but every collector in here knows just as i do that, that is a fair and very decent price.

p.s. does anyone know how long it takes to be able to post? as i have a WTB or whereabouts of any information to where any cases that are unopened are at? ive contacted playmates and that only ended with a check ebay statement. you would think they would know where these warehouse's that these are stored in are at (yes i believe that there are still some out there, wouldn't you)

The easy spot is that the turtles dont have fan club fliers in them. Youd be able to see little white slips of paper behind them in the bubble.

The vast majority of collectors have little use for doubles. The "trades" market is very small (heck, look at the lack of responses to most of the WTT threads here). Purchasing is way less of a hassle. Plus, some of the turtles you have doubles of (space cadet raph for instance) are IMPOSSIBLY difficult to move as they were CRAAAAAZZZZZYYYYYY mass produced.

Which is why you would want to split those high end figures out from the pack and sell them individually. You can ask those prices individually, but not together, because it drives the asking price up too high (as seen in your most recent attempt).

It isn't that 20 a figure is a bad deal as an arbitrary number. It's the particular figures you have grouped together, combined with the number of figures, that makes it a bad deal. There are simply too many less desirable figures in that lot to ask that price per figure when theyre in groups that large.

Playmates keeps a collection of basically one of everything theyve ever produced, and that's about it.
